Pull data from different databases

Hi!
I’m setting up a website that needs to pull data from different databases, based on the group a user belongs to. This data is external to MODX core, and contains specific information for each group (their customers, products, activities, etc). Is this possible using MODX? How could it be done?

I’m new to ModX (as you already guessed), and i must say this is THE framework! I don’t think there’s something this engine can’t do... except maybe a cup of coffee...
