    Your point about improving the documentation is well-taken, as is your comment about some tutorials being out-of-date. It seems to me that MODx is going through some very rapid evolutionary changes (0.9.5 made 0.9.2 obsolete, 0.9.7 promises to do the same to 0.9.5, and not too far on the horizon is 1.0) and that the documentation has been struggling to keep up. I don’t think that Ditto, Jot, or WayFinder even existed until about six months or so ago, and they’ve each gone through who-knows-how-many revisions since then.

    Which is great. I am fine with the lack of documentation, but when I learn stuff I ask a LOT of questions. So, you know, prepare to be annoyed.

      Questions aren’t annoying, and in the context of a forum they can be very useful. Besides the fact that you hopefully get your question answered, you may very well bring up something that needs addressing or could be improved, and others with the same question later can read your post and not need to ask again. You may be answering other people’s questions before long as well.

        Ok more questions. I abandoned getting AjaxSearch running correctly for now, since the content isnt up, so why do a need a search now?

        I am working on getting the blog integrated into the site, because its one of the more integral pieces of it. First, does MODx support trackbacks and pingbacks? If not, this whole project may be for naught...

        Anyway, heres a few questions? I want it set up like a normal blog, right now on the front page it shows the blog post, and the user and when. I tried implimenting Jot, but I dont want the comments box to show on the front page, I just want it to show how many comments there are, like a normal blog. Then when you hit the link for the blog, it goes to the blog post and shows the comments and comment box. It also needs the title there...I imagine that I need a template for that as well, or something?

        How do I make it so the [+user+] tag becomes a clickable email link?

          Ok, I figured out the Jot thing, I just made a separate template for the blog posts, and it worked pretty well. The only thing is when I try and post a comment to the blog I get this error

          « MODx Parse Error »
          MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
          « Execution of a query to the database failed - You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1 »
                SQL: UPDATE `modxjunction`.modxjunction_jot_content SET title='Test',content='Hello World',createdon='1170280867',createdby='1',secip='69.221.146.13',sechash='64764c4248f8fa7cfcccdb874c2579b8',uparent='17',tagid='',published='1' WHERE id=;
                [Copy SQL to ClipBoard]

          Parser timing
            MySQL: 	0.0067 s	(7 Requests)
            PHP: 	0.0575 s
            Total: 	0.0643 s

          Does it have something to do with tagID?

            I fixed this.
