I can’t log in at all now, but I can access the database and I see it is logging the following in the event log table when I try and log in.
<h3 style=’color:red’>« MODx Parse Error »</h3>
<table border=’0’ cellpadding=’1’ cellspacing=’0’>
<tr><td colspan=’3’>MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:</td></tr>
<tr><td colspan=’3’><b style=’color:red;’>« PHP Parse Error »</b></td></tr><tr><td> </td></tr><tr><td colspan=’3’><b>PHP error debug</b></td></tr><tr><td valign=’top’> Error: </td><td colspan=’2’>Unknown: open(/var/phptmp/sess_o6effenuo6fo9e1r8gs4ej5s62, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2)</td><td> </td></tr><tr><td valign=’top’> Error type/ Nr.: </td><td colspan=’2’>Warning - 2</b></td><td> </td></tr><tr><td> File: </td><td colspan=’2’>Unknown</td><td> </td></tr><tr><td> Line: </td><td colspan=’2’>0</td><td> </td></tr><tr><td> </td></tr><tr><td colspan=’3’><b>Parser timing</b></td></tr><tr><td> MySQL: </td><td><i>0.3249 s</i></td><td>(<i>17 Requests</i>)</td></tr><tr><td> PHP: </td><td><i>0.1388 s</i></td><td> </td></tr><tr><td> Total: </td><td><i>0.4637 s</i></td><td> </td></tr></table>
Is there any way I can reset whatever the problem is - any help gratefully received.
I would try an Upgrade install. If you’ve deleted the install directory, you’ll have to put it back. If you’ve modified permissions for security (e.g. manager/includes/config.inc.php) you’ll have to reset them.
Then go to yoursite.com/install, choose upgrade, and be sure installing the sample web site is unchecked. Also uncheck any addons that you’ve modified.
Your original site should be intact after the "upgrade."
