Base HREF and Anchors

I am a big fan of using
in my MODx templates.

At times, I also use anchors for quick, navigational jumps

e.g.


However, I have found that, when combined, all of my anchored links link to my site’s root --> [(site_url)]#clickedAnchorName

Has anyone noticed this, and is there anything that can be done to correct it (while still allowing base href?)

Yes, this is an issue and when utilizing the base href approach, you must use the syntax for anchors that stick to the current pages URL.

We LOVE MODx, and have been developing cient sites almost exclusivily in MODx for nearly all of 2007. Is there any plans to address the issue of internal links to a more user-friendly solution. The clients that we have using MODx all use TinyMCE as their editor. So requiring them to edit the HTML is very much sub-optimal from a usability perspective. We’ve found that it is the little things like this that make the end user experience most frustrating (not with MODx necessarily, but with any software application).

Any plans to address this usability issue or any suggestions on making it more usable for content editors?

The AnchorsAway plug-in works well, just make the anchor link directly and it holds the current page ID.
