Mananger Errors (Possable Fix?)

It sounds like you’re trying to use MODx in a way that won’t work well right now. I’d recommend sticking with one domain per installation.

The group I maintain these sites for has 3 different domain names that get used. Mainly due to the first person not handing over the original domain, so get a new one.. Then switching hosts yet another new domain so the site didn’t go down and I could build the new site.

Now people are used to all the different addresses so I can’t really eliminate any of them.

I wouldn’t think that modx would have problems with having 3.. Well I guess 6 seeing as how you need a virtural host with and without www. sub domain names would cause such an issue.

Are there any plans to improve subdomain support so the manager dosn’t freak out if you forget the www. or change .com to .org? Or does something exist and I just don’t know it?

My understanding is that sessions are based on the domain and there’s no good way currently to maintain that session across sites if you’re switching domains/subdomains mid session. Note the word "currently".

I would think a problem like this would best be solved with the .htaccess file. The five URLs you don’t want would all be re-written to the one you do want.
