Where can I find the statistics information (click-throughs, page views, ref URLs, etc) in the new interface? I’m having amazing trouble locating this.

You probably will, the MODx stats have been completely stripped out - they were the cause of many a problem and site slowdowns. However, you can get the slimstat plugin from the MODx site (it’s in the blog section somewhere, sorry I don’t have a link at the moment)

Or, you can use a third party app, for example Google Analytics or AwStats.

Ripping it out was probably a good call. I did have a few problems with it here and there. I use GA, but I liked the built in stats because they were real time. I think my host has AS, and that’s realtime, so maybe I’ll give that a shot.

          Thanks.

Is it possible to follow what a specific user has been doing on my site (logged in of course) with an external statistics script? If I would like to "spy" on a user so to say...

Hmm, with web users you could use some form of an analytics package that can track individual users - for example, some use single-pixel gif tracking for this - but they are generally not cheap. I’m not aware of any open-source packages that can do this, maybe somebody else does?

For manager users, there is always the Manager Actions log.

A tool I like very much because it gets to the essential and is easy to implement (just insert a js code in your page and you’re done) is phpmyvisites

That’s the one I use personnally, and clients love it (usually, I find stats are confusing, too much details). You also have pdf export and mail reports, which are both nice if you build websites for clients.

Many people who are using the old stats will also try searching for the ’statistic page’ from the new interface. I try to click on every link I can find to locate it for nearly 30 minutes, before I give up.

So I think it is best to make a statement in the beta download page to indicate that the statistic has been removed. smiley

I understand the choise to remove the built in statistics from modx because of performance issue but now we won’t be able any more to write a snippet to get the most popular pages for instance.

                    :-)

I did a quick test of it, but I missed some features like being able to see info about every visitor. I want to see their IP and also what pages they visited. Also I miss the feature to exclude IPs from being logged.

But it was only a quick test, maybe I missed something.

Also if visitors have turned of javascript in their browser they don’t get counted. Small problem of course, but anyway...

If there things are no problem it seems to be a very nice and easy installed script.
