Keep in mind that 90% of your endusers wil use a windows based pc and with that comes IE so I think we do need to focus as dev. to that end target. this does not mean that devoloping on a Mac is bad NOT AT ALL, but when it works on mac in FF does it work On windows? or better yet in IE? NO WAY.
My goal is to get it working for my 90% first than take care of the rest.
My dream is to get the 90% to use FF but that dream is still far away I think, until that time I use my PC \(and my MAC besites it) to get my sites and scripts working.
mm reading this back, this is a lot of off topic sorry.
Raymond you rule would be great to have a devpack for modx

Can’t believe how fast Modx is progressing... A complete rewrite in the pipeline, a rock solid community and now a devkit! When’s the book coming out?
"ModX in a nutshell" sounds good doesn’t it?
Well if it takes off well then I guess we will get enough help to port the system to other platforms.
Here’s quick listing of some of the tools/features planned for the DevKit:
* Direct Access - No more copy and paste! Create, edit and delete documents, chunks, templates and snippets from your MODx site using your favorite html/php editor. Versioning will also be supported.
* Content Publisher - Transfer content from one MODx site to the next with a few clicks of the mouse. This means that as a developer you can develop your apps using your local copy of MODx then publish your changes to main server.
* Snapshots - Make and restore snapshots of your entire MODx site with a single click!
These are just a few of what’s on my list of things to do so just please be patient with me as I seek to roll out the dev kit in stages. The first tool to be rolled out is Direct Acess unless you guys have something else in mind?

Will the versioning allow support for an existing system, for example Subversion?
Andy
Hi Andy,
No it will "not" support systems such as subversion. By versioning I mean that give you an interface to restore from previously modified copies of a document, etc.
Another feature that I’ll be looking into for Direct Access is a recycle bin. This will allow you to restore preivously deleted documents, etc. But first I must get the basics to work
