      MODx would love to carry on every language which only be available by its developers interest/potential, As i know there is no Arabic translation yet and still no one has announced his interest to make the Arabic translation, maybe someone could help MODx speak Arabic wink

          All you need to do is to grab the English language file and start the translation.
          Better you go line by line but, there is another way to do it fast, you actually don’t need to translate all the language lines!, Just see the MODx-manager while you translate the language file and translate those you think would be enough to be used.

          BTW You can add my yahoo msg ID: motsmart

              find the below path within a directory which you have installed your copy of MODx:

              \manager\includes\lang\english.inc.php

              This is where you can find the english language file, translate it and save it as something arabic.inc.php
              then login to your manager and change the language to the file name you created, lets say Arabic then you see the changes you have made.

              Please note that you need to save the language file under a best suit character-set for the Arabic language, I recommend you use the UTF-8 charset.

              For the installation language file you can find it under the install\lang\english.inc.php

              when you actually make a copy of english.inc.php and rename it to something like arabic.inc.php try to run the installation of MODx but If you have already installed your copy of MODx and deleted the "install" directory you can get another copy of MODx and add the arabic.inc.php there.

              this way you can see which lines are in charge of which parts! so you can translate those lines which you are in need of the most.

                thanks for the reply man.. i got the file and started working on it .. I’m using notepad to edit it cause i know it won’t add any unwanted code to the file . but if you can recommend me another editing tool that makes it easier to edit the file with out ending up cross-eyed it would be great.

                    I got no error!
                    It’s better to do this in a local machine rather testing on a running server.
                    This could be caused by MODx default charset settings;
                    // send the charset header
                    header('Content-Type: text/html; charset='.$modx_manager_charset);

                    when you change a language do check on the charset encoding to be the best suit

                    Search for "EasyPhp" and "NotePad++" these applications will ease your life a much.

                      i got the notepad++ and you’re right it’s much better looking code and much organaized ...

                      i don’t understand when you said "It’s better to do this in a local machine rather testing on a running server." do you mean i could get errors on server and not get them on my machine? any way it’s easier for me to edit the file and upload it than seting up a virtual copy of the whole thing " i’d be really lost cause as i mentiond i’m no programer and never used php.. just html and css for me" .. any way what should i do about the charset problem i made sure last time that i saved it utf-8 and the same in the manager.. i searched for it in the lang file and never found it... what can i do to try to fix this ?
