Change the way international forums are displayed

I fully vote for this plan. Once tried to exclude fora of languages I don’t understand from being displayed in the profile settings, but anyhow this didn’t work for me. I guess the overwhelming amount of language-specific fora instead of having one umbrella forum for all topic-specific ones, that’s the only reason (I can’t think of another) why there is a separate german modx community. Lazy as I am, I would prefer searching in one place instead of two.

This is exactly what i want to avoid. I am starting a local community and some users wanted an independent forum because they could not identify with the current setup. I would rather see everything in one location rather than spitting it up (as int he example of the German community forum).

I am happy others are seeing this as a positive change.

Okay, I must say I find this confusing. The international boards sit in the middle of the English boards on the index page. I spent a while wondering what had happened to all the rest of boards I was looking for. What’s the rationale for this organisation? I suspect many users of the English boards may never discover the ones at the bottom.

I see what you are saying, they may be better at the end after all the english content. In the meantime you could simply ’close’ the blind to the international forums and I think it will remain closed for future visits.

Of course, what would be awesome would be if there was a way that users could personalise the forum by dragging favourite boards to the top or whatever. (And, yeah, I realise that’s probably not possible with the SMF forum.)

In the middle? I see them at the bottom of the index page, just like they were before only now they’re organized with a top-level-forum. I’m not sure what exactly you’re seeing that I’m not...
