    Includes:
    english
    finnish
    german
    italian
    nederlands
    norsk
    spanish
    svenska

    in UTF8 where appropriate.

    These contain previously available translations plus the new phrases with their English definitions. Please translate anything that’s in English. Also read the file "changestolang.txt" which details phrases that have been redefined.

    David’s French file is available elsewhere.
    For Japanese and Chinese I need to tweak things.

    There’s also english-british.inc.php which is an example of a minor language change.

    If you have already made translations that are not reflected in the above, please post your file here so I can regenerate the new style language to include your work.

    Finally, this zip also contains the English files for QuickEdit, DocManager, Ditto and eform. Translations for these may already exist, I don’t know. But we’d like them all to be in the 0.9.5 release. For QuickEdit, you may find some existing translations in the main MODx file. These will be moving out of there, but they’ve been left in to aid you in translating the new QuickEdit file.

    Thanks everyone.
      No, I don't know what OpenGeek's saying half the time either.

      For those interrested, the french file is available here

      Question : is there the latest changes (jaroslav’s and possibly others) ?
      Since I translated early, I’ll check the english file above to see if my translation is up to date...

        Great work indeed Paul. Only thing that jumps out immediately is the QuickEdit language file missing a definition for:
        $_lang['content'] = 'Content';

          FYI, these language updates were committed in 1610. Thanks for the effort again, Paul. smiley

            Maybe this is also a good time to make the naming of the language files consistent. Right now some files have the english name of the language and some have the native language name for the file.

            For example:
            "nederlands" is the dutch language file. Nederlands means dutch in dutch.
            But the french language file is called "french", but this should be "francais" (if I am not misstaken) if the same convention would be used as for the dutch language file.

            I don’t really have a preference for what convention to use, but I think it should be consistent.

              Actually, the french file is francais.inc.php

              But I agree with you that we should be consistent....

                If we’re going to change naming, then perhaps names like:

                en-uk-utf8.php or en-us-utf8.php

                would make more sense.

                On a related note and as has been committed in 1612, all language files need to have the following line added/translated:

                $_lang["plugin_priority"] = 'Edit Plugin Execution Order by Event';

                  And to paraphrase Pont from another thread, I’m leaning towards removing a few more lines:
                  If the visitor stats are removed, so shouldn’t these phrases be removed too?
                  $_lang["track_visitors_message"]
                  $_lang["track_visitors_title"]

                  (In addition to any other abandoned phrases now...)

                    Here’s Finnish language files. The few lines posted by Ryan above are:

                    $_lang["plugin_priority"] = 'Muokkaa pluginien suoritusjärjestystä';

                    $_lang['content'] = 'Sisältö';

                    Some comments on the changestolang.txt file

                    There are these listed in "Titles shortened, meaning largely the same:" section:

                    $_lang["visitor_stats"] - Was "Visitor stats", now "Statistics"
                    $_lang["visitor_stats_online"] - Was "Visitors now browsing", now "Now Browsing"

                    I couldnt find those in the language file. Ain’t all visitor logging removed anyways..

                    Secondly, I would move this to Majors

                    $_lang["user_management_title"] - Was "Manage users", now "Manager Users"

                    Because the whole meaning changes.. but those are not so important.

                      "He can have a lollipop any time he wants to. That's what it means to be a programmer."

                      Since the statistics is removed - can these phrases be removed from the lang file as well?

                      $_lang["top_howmany_message"]
                      $_lang["top_howmany_title"]
                      $_lang["resolve_hostnames_message"]
                      $_lang["resolve_hostnames_title"]

                      Also, the "Log visits", "Resolve hostnamnes" and "Top how many" sections in the site configuration should then also be removed, i.e. remove lines 310-348 in "/manager/actions/mutate_settings.dynamic.php".
