I’ve just added my first snippit to the repository and would like as much feedback as possible. It is a simple Gallery snippit that reads a directory and creates a page or pages of images found.
It has pagination through use of a pagination class file and each image is placed within divs to make formatting via CSS easy.
I would especially like help in pulling the html formatting out of the snippit and placing it into a template chunk.
Thanks, I’ll check it out.
Just posted an update... more like a complete rewrite.
Let me know what you think!
Little too quick on the update, missed a bug in pagination >:(
In any case, It’s fixed now.
Some documentation or explanaition on how to use it would be nice
looks killer I just dont know what to do with it
When i add [[mygallery]] in document all i get is a blank dropdown menu
Looked around snippet/chunks for any documentation to no avail
It’s mostly documented in the comments within the snippit. I do need to write some..
In and case you need to place some jpg’s into a sub folder (/photos./thumbs is what it defaults to) you can also place the full size or at least a higher resolution into another folder (/photos is what this defaults to) and they will be linked. The readme.txt that shows when you install the package should have been placed into the assets/components/myGallery folder but was not for some reason. It shows:
Usage
Place the following snippit call into the page where you would like to see the images.
[[!myGallery?
&mgStrDir=`directory/to/full_size/images` // where the full size images are kept. Defaults to photos
&mgStrThumb=`directory/to/low_resolution/images` // where the thumbnails are kept. Defaults to photos/.thumbs
&mgIntPerPage=`6` // Number of images per page. Defaults to 6
&mgIntWidth=`250` // width of thumbnails. Defaults to 250
&mgIntHeight=`182` // height of thumbnails. Defaults to 182
&mgBolShowName=`true` // Show file name. Defaults to false
&mgBolShowModel=`true` // show exif camera model. Defaults to false
&mgBolShowDate=`true` // show exif date taken. Defaults to false
]]
All vars are optional
The templets can also be changed as you like to make your page fit your purpose.
I do thank you for the help. And i do thank you for taking the time to even make this as I have felt the same frustrations with gallery.
Great to hear that it is at least useful to somebody. Any thing else it should do?
Can you explain where the images should live, i.e. where should i place my ’photo’ folder. I’ve tried in the root of modx and I’ve tried in your mygallery folder + the one below.
Have you got a sample site with it running? Then i could view the source and figure out the paths.
thanks
p.s. This is just what i’ve been looking for.
