If you do that, you need to provide the necessary js libraries yourself (eg. mootools for smoothgallery).
I added &disable_js_libs=`1` to the maxigallery call (just in case).
MaxiGallery adds that if SmoothGallery is enabled to be used. Don’t worry about it being set to hidden, smoothgallery JS script will just read the html and render it views..
I also see display: none for this gallery has been added to the header but I don’t know the source of it. It is not in the template.
