Hello,
I´m a newbe to modx and maxigallery. I installed CMS on my USB stick [xampplite 1.7.0] first and had the sam problem there also as on my webserver now ! [may the mistake is between monitor and chair !]
I installed MaxiGallery and the Snippet, the two sites and uploaded three test pictures.
The call on the
main page work without problems.
[!MaxiGallery? &display=`childgalleries`!]
The view on the
gallery page looks fine on the first view. the two calls are:
Gallery I:
[!MaxiGallery? &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`lightboxv2` &pics_in_a_row=`3` &max_thumb_size=`110` &max_pic_size=`0` &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1`!]
test 2:
[!MaxiGallery? &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`popup` &pics_in_a_row=`3` &max_thumb_size=`110` &max_pic_size=`0` &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1`!]
the call under test 2 with popup work good. But the first call with lightboxv2 don´t work ! [also slimbox]. The picture is just shown in the same window.
Did any one has a hint? In the INet I found the hint to ceckt the GD Version [min. 1.8] On the webserver is 2.0.12 installed.

As I use Firefox I installed Firebug und I found the following.
In the call from the picture is style="opacity: 0.999999; display: none;" and if I delet this "display: one" in firebug the picture is shown !
<img id="lightboxImage" style="opacity: 0.999999; display: none;" src="/modx-0.9.6.3/assets/galleries/49/0.jpg"/>
the same with the close button !
<div id="imageDataContainer" class="clearfix" style="width: 305px; height: 29px; display: none;">
<div id="imageData">
<div id="imageDetails">
<span id="caption"> - </span>
<span id="numberDisplay" style="opacity: 0.999999; display: none;"/>
</div>
<div id="bottomNav">
<a id="bottomNavClose" href="#">
<img src="assets/snippets/maxigallery/lightboxv2/images/closelabel.gif" style="opacity: 0.999999;"=""/>
</a>
</div>
</div>
</div>
but how does this come? How can I avoid this disply: none ?
thanks for help

Your problem is multiple snippet calls:
http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,32394.msg197339.html#msg197339
There are optional snippets out there like this:

I installed CMS on my USB stick [xampplite 1.7.0]
This is cool Im just playing with this myself! 8)
Might be some css collision between template css and maxigallery css. Comment out your temlate css and see if it works then. Then start adding your template css back one block at a time to see what causes your problems.

Hello mrHaw,
sorry but I can´t get what you mean.
But I created a new blank page with only one link and disabled the "quick edit" plug in.
http://www.getcrazy.de/modx-0.9.6.3/index.php?id=51
but also it is not working !
I´m wondering as I this is a blank installation. I just added the maxigallery to the modx. And it don´t work ?
I played a bit with the new version of lightboxv2 on my USB stick [2.0.4 instead of 2.0.2 which is also in MaxiGallery 0.6, I still use 0.5.2 !] and I get it working under FF but not in IE [by using the new version of effekts.js; scriptaculous.js and prototype.js and the rest from 2.02 !]. I also wunder that I have the same problems as well on the USB as on my webserver as this are complete differen installations [I mean apache version, os a.s.o.]

Create a new template for example that does not have any css on it.. just
<html>
<head>
<title>[*pagetitle*]</title>
</head>
<body>[*content*]</body>
</html>
And see if maxigallery works ok in a document with that template. If it works, it’s a css collision with your site css.

Hi doze,
thanks for that hint.
this is absolut correct ! It works fine:
http://www.getcrazy.de/modx-0.9.6.3/index.php?id=51
OK but how can it be that when I download normal modx-0.9.6.3 from www.modxcms.com and also from the same page
maxigallery 0.5.2 and I just install that snippet that it don´t work ? [I really have changed nothing !]
Could that be interessting for the developer?
thanks for help so far !

I haven’t checked that does MaxiGallery work in default MODx template.. But it seems that it does not then.
I don’t have any intent though to tweak maxigallery work in MODx default template.. for my mind the default contents are just a sample on how to create a site with MODx. Most people have their own site template that they use and CSS(/js) collisions are very usual problem.. But it’s just a matter of finding out the collision and fixing it.
