Dropshadows

Me and a friend from #modx modified the php to output .png’s instead of .jpg thumbnails, and to allow for 8 bit transparency when putting it together. Works famously, but I’ve promised to let him post his modification on here, since he did most of the work. I.e., allowing "&thumb_shadow_bgcolor= `transparent`".

Sounds great. Did you include the js code to enable older browsers (e.g. IE6) to handle the transparency?

The site is not finished yet, but yeah I will add my own little JS that can even do liquid designs and bg-images with transparency without the horrid ’no-clicky links’ on top

I was hoping the snippet code could be modded to make PNG thumbnails even from other formats like JPG - right now I have to upload the big pic as PNG for the shadows to work.

The guy that helped me wanted to make a proper mod, check if there was already a fixed version in the SVN etc. So he asked me to wait to share it. My version needs PNGs with transparency on the big pictures to create thumbnails with PNG transparency - so I’m working with a temp patch that makes the pics take way too much space. I think the update is coming soon...
