MaxiGallery v0.5.2

This is supposed to work with MODx 0.9.6 right?

I can’t get the "slideshows" to work. I can get slidebox and lightboxv2 to display the picture, but I’m not able to get the "slideshow" effect so that I can click on the image to go next. When I click on the image, it just close down.

I’ve tried several different calls.. my current is this standard one:


I’ve used the Wiki-explanation to set up front-end creation of galleries, so the call above is actually made inside the ’gallerymain’ chunk.

A further problem is that when I create a new album, I’m not able to add picutres right away - I just come to the new page with the "Manage Pictures" button. However, this button doesn’t work. I *do* get the button to work if I’m logged into the backend too, though.

So, I assume here may be some javascript problems? Since, the difference is that when I’m logged into the backend, the quickEdit stuff is added to the page. But shouldn’t all these features work seamlessly together with MaxiGallery when I use MaxiGallery 0.5.2 and MODx 0.9.6 ? I don’t do _any_ other mootools stuff on the page.


Edit: The problem may be connected to the fact that for new galleries, the page is set to be cachable. But how can I hinder this?

Wohoo! The problem was connected to the fact that had this call: in the template that. I removed it from the template used to display galleries and now must stuff work.

I still got some questions though

1) I have the call above in the main template. What I want is to just show some new and/or random pictures from all galleries, like teaser. Also, I want that when you click on a image, you go to the gallery for that image. This doesn’t work now.. I need to make some other call somehow. I can’t use a childgallery call since this will be called from every page.

2) The main gallery page has a childgallery call like this: Is there some way I can alter this call such that it will display more than one picture from each childgallery?

3) The embed type I like best, slidebox, doesn’t work - it doesnt’ display the next picture when I click on it. Instead it just closes the picture. slimbox and lightboxv2 works fairly well but are a bit distorted. This is maybe just some css of mine. I’d rather get slidebox to work, though. Any conflicts with slidebox and the current MODx?

Use the query options to get new or random pictures from the galleries, see examples in the Wiki. Then do a custom galleryPictureTpl and make the link from the picture to be href="[~[+maxigallery.picture.gal_id+]~]", then it links to the gallery page instead of straight to the picture. But of course you cannot use the embedded display type to do this, because they open the pictures with javascript in an overlay div.

No, but you can list the documents with Ditto and in Ditto’s template, have a maxigallery call that get’s the pictures from that document (eg. &gal_query_ids=`[+id+]` etc..)

After you have set the embed type to slidebox, go to the picture management and click save changes. That makes maxigallery to generate the needed xml file for slidebox script.

Ah - swell Sorry for doubleposting, I thought maybe I had posted in an appropirate place, and didn’t see your answere here when I created the other post.

1) Great - I had tried this method, but I used the embedded views, that’s why it didn’t work.

3) This worked superbly! Thx. I have the galleries set to slidebox by default though, from the very time the gallery is created.

Is it possible, that you send me the slimbox version you have included to the MaxiGallery without the changes you have made? I use them for an own plugin and on the slimbox page is only a newer one available. When i am using the newer I have to use newer moottols an then I come in conflict with the MaxiGallery.

Nope sorry.. I think I don’t have the "clean" version from v1.31 slimbox. But I think that with a little bit of googling you can find it from some where.

Hi, that looks very similar to smoothgallery, in the next version of smoothgallery, it’s possible to put the thumbnails in a separate div on the page. So I will not probably add this to MaxiGallery..

EDIT: Here is some Smoothgallery 2.0 demos. They do not show that the thumbnails can be in a separate div, but I remember that Jon said in #modx irc channel that it should be possible.. I’ll ask more information about that.

EDIT2: Yeah.. now that I read the forum post more carefully, the "useExternalCarousel" option has been added in 1.1.2, so it will be possible once I update to SmoothGallery 2.0
