Manager Manager is actually what I used, as well. While I wish it were easier to use (like you noted), once I figured it out, I LOVE it!
You’ll see in the screenshot where I’m using a custom General tab, Preview tab (I just enabled this so I could get to the MaxiGallery frontend Manager), and a Property Details tab which contains all my TVs for the property listings.
