Newbie: maxigallery manager in manager?

How can I manage the gallery via manager? Is it possible? Should I write a module?

this is already implemented and working fine - just click on your gallery page and you get a "Manage gallery" button when you’re logged into the manager.

well, that’s something I couldn’t really get to work either - sometimes the button appears in the front-end when I’m logged into the manager and sometimes the button doesn’t appear in the front-end - don’t know whether this is a session or maybe cookie issue

This has to do with www.domain.com vs domain.com, often times you might be visiting domain.com and logged into www.domain.com/manager .. or vise versa. they need to be the same.

Secondly, I agree, maxi gallery needs a backend manager... it is very confusing to show a client "yeah do everything in the back end, except this one thing"

I’m not quite sure how to respond, obviously it’s a bit of a jab to say "Quit complaining and code it yourself!"

Here are a few reasons:

1 - I’ve contributed quite a few things already, nothing groundbreaking, but nice simple things, this is beyond my personal scope
2 - I could hire someone to do it, and probably would, but 9.7 is changing many things
3 - I just like to complain more than most

I think that sums it up, it was just a comment, I appreciate what the Developer(s) of MaxiGallery have produced thus far.

I actually just turned this on for a client myself. In the backend, I am using the MODx Manager built-in Preview tab. I preview the page/Document I’m editing (again, within the MODx Manager), then I click on Manage Pictures and add the images. I’m also using just one Picture Manager page, so I’m not sure if this is a factor.

I’ve thought of this as well.. just added a different layer of complexity.

I feel what MODx needs is a "Manager Manager" yes i know there is a hacked one, but a way to present things stupid simple to a client, I think that is the biggest thing that I face, clients glazing over.

Doughnuts glazed over have also become an issue, but that’s nothing a bit of biking and playing outside can’t fix.
