I’ll look in from time to time to see how things are going, but if an issue arises that you think I may be able to help feel free to PM me - obviously this isn’t going to include integration with ModX, but some other things are common to both, like the recent image size issue.
I’ll also be doing a bugfix release of etogal shortly, and once I’ve gone through all the fixes needed will check whether any are likely to be relevant to maxigallery or minigallery.
One thing I’ve taken away from this is to think more carefully about licencing - if nothing is specified, my interpretation is it defaults to ’copyright’, which pleases no-one but lawyers!

... its taken me a while to type this, and I notice a couple of new posts, one about credits on pages. I’ll just add that I agree with doze - there should be no need to place credits for the code on the gallery web pages.

I’m not sure this is possible, beyond embedding a copyright symbol or similar as a watermark in the image, which I was originally planning to add to etoGal. In the end I decided it was more trouble than it was worth for me. Techniques such as disabling right-click to avoid copying the file are of limited value - the image has to be downloaded to the users computer to be displayed, and can be manually copied at that point anyway. A copyright symbol means that they’ll have to do some work on the image to get rid of the copyright, but also means the image you are displaying is spoiled. In the end I jus settled on using a size that I felt allowed people to appreciate the image, but limited the other uses it could be put to. (I haven’t yet looked at how doze has implemented the watermarkfeature.)

In my post, I thought of the technique of neutralization by the clic right even if this technique is quite relative. It is already about a limitation. The other techniques fall within the competence of the webmaster.

I’ll put that in for the next version as an option, altough it doesn’t protect much as Mike said.. people can still get a copy of your pictures if they want quite easily.

If you want to protect your pictures for sure, the best way would be to make a very transparent watermark image and set it to the center of your images. So you’d need to add &pic_use_watermark=`1` &pic_watermark_valign=`center` &pic_watermark_halign=`center` &pic_watermark_img=`path/to/your/watermark.png` to your snippetcall to achieve this.

I have seen a couple of references to the issue of getting the navigation to show in the lightbox (or slidebox), but I still don’t understand exactly how to do that. Could someone give me some clear instructions on how to set that up?

What problems are you having with it and what have you done allready? If the lightbox opens OK, but just no navigation is not visible, go to the picture management and click "Save changes".

I discovered what was causing my problem with not having the "next" and "back" navigation in slidebox. For some reason, if any of the filenames for the images have spaces and/or ampersands ("&") in them, this causes trouble with the navigation. Not sure why, but I know it does. I changed my filenames to get rid of the offending characters, re-uploaded images, and now it works!

I think I’ve finally settled on "slidebox" as the gallery type I want to use. However, everything works fine in Firefox, but, in IE, the pictures pop up in the box, but there is no dark overlay behind it. How can I get that to work? Thanks.
