Nope.. It uses the same thumbnail pics from the galleries.. but you could edit line 59 that has the <img> tag to set height/width attributes to it, so the images will be resized at the browser end..

BTW, I have allready fixed the bug what caused galleries folder deletion when using the snippet in unpublished document, but I’ll do some other little fixes that people have reported here before I release it. Expect it to be done in few hours tops..

New version is attatched to the first post. This is mostly just bugfix release, look at the changelog for the changes.. I hope I remembered them all grin

If you have any problems please report here. I hope that I’ll get some time soon to develope new things for this snippet, I know that there is much requests for the templating feature etc..

EDIT: And if you are wondering how to update your snippet, it goes like this:

1. Extract the zip to your computer
2. Open up your FTP client and go to assets/snippets/maxigallery/ folder
3. Delete everything there and upload new files/folders from your desktop
4. Go to MODx manager and edit MaxiGallery snippet
5. Copy paste new snippet code from maxigallery.txt to the manager snippet text area and hit save!

Ok, I have set up a demo for people to play with at:

Login (or register for a user account) and add some photos, play around a bit.
I have 4 sections right now
*Default - basically nothing more than [!MaxiGallery!]
*DropShadow - uses drop shadow on the images and thumbs.
*LightBox2 - uses the LightBox2 embedding feature.
*Popup/Watermark - js popup window reveals full size image with sD watermark

each page also shows the snippet call I used to get the results at the top of the page.

Doze, you can add this to the first post if you want, I am not going to move or change the link.

I’ve had an oddity involving (surprise, surprise rolleyes

) IE and the slidebox. Initially it will not show the "loading" icon, nor will the upper right "X" be displayed. Otherwise it works just fine. Sometimes there is a javascript error, sometimes not. The error varies. Now this all occurred on a site with the default MODx template head, including the conditonal IE section with the two scripts to force semi-compliance on IE for hovers and for .png images. After an unspecific number of refreshes, page changes, browser cache clearing, browser closures, etc.. it will suddenly begin to work properly. For some reason, once it starts working it doesn’t fail again, so I haven’t been able to really do a lot of exprimenting to see if I can reproduce the error. Two others using IE, however, reported the same problem, which again cleared up after an apparently arbitrary number of page refreshes.

Another site I have with exactly the same snippet call (I copied/pasted it directly from the demo site) works perfectly every time. That site does not have the IE conditional with the two files included.

I have removed the IE conditional in question, since I’m not using them anyway; I don’t know yet if that has solved the problem in this case. Has anyone else run across this issue?

Hi, great gallery and CMS. I’ve been playing around with the gallery for the last two days and I can’t get the drop shadows to work. I’m stumped. Here is the info on my snippet.

[[MaxiGallery? &pics_in_a_row=`3` &manager_webgroups=`Registered Users` &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`lightboxv2` &titles_in_overview=`1` &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1` &pic_use_dropshadow=`1`]]

PHP 4.3.10
GD Version 2.0.28

The rest of the gallery is working great but I don’t know where to look to solve this problem.

Btw, what if I want to upload several images via FTP. Can it create thumbs afterwards? The form uploading takes way too long if you have many images...

It would be nice with some manager frontend aswell. For more organized sorting and browsing.

I’ve noticed a simple but aggravating bug in assets/snippets/maxigallery/watermark/Thumbnail.class.php. At the top of the file, it’s using a short PHP opening tag (<?) instead of the preferred <?php. As a result, for installations that have short_open_tag turned off, the upload process fails spectacularly with the entire text of the Thumbnail.class.php file displayed over an error message complaining it couldn’t find the Thumbnail class.

I haven’t bothered uploading a patch, since it’s a one-line fix at the top.

But once I fixed it on my site, it works slick!

Hi sottwell, have you noticed that slidebox also uses some conditional css clauses and they need to be on the source to get it working perfectly.. maybe IE fuxores something if source has more that one conditional css block.. you could try removing the IE specific css lines from the snippet and put it straight to your template where you have the other conditional statements too..? Just a thought..

The snippet call looks OK to me.. do you have the dropshadow images in assets/snippets/maxigallery/dropshadow/? Have you changed the shadow picture names?

Thanks for the Swedish language file! At this time, uploading pictures via FTP is not possible. In future versions, it will be possible to browse /change each picture at the picture management (including all sizes of the picture).. and also apply imagemasks/dropshadows/etc per picture. I have thought of doing a module where all of the site galleries could be managed through backend, but haven’t got time to get my visions into code yet.. wink
