I get the following error when trying to run the module in the manager...

MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
« `` is not numeric and may not be passed to makeUrl() »

Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Is there any easy way to see which line of code is causing this so that I can try to diagnose the problem myself?

Thanks for any help.

The problem is that this is a snippet, not a module. You don’t run this as a module. Please follow the installation instructions from the first post and you should get it up and running in no time..

Hello,

MaxiGallery seems very nice but it comes without documentation (exception comments for parameters). So i’ve tried to see samples on the following link (http://www.netguru.fi/modx) but it’s not available. Could you help me. Where can I find examples on how to use it ?

Hi there! Yes, MaxiGallery comes without documentation for now, because it’s still in early developement stage and things can change fast.. But It’s quite easy to use, so it’s best to just try the parameters in the snippet call and look at the results to see what they do exactly.

The site that the demo was on is also my developement site. Somehow when I played around with the site few days ago, I managed to delete all the gallery pictures. So I need to reupload them. If someone is able to put up few demos of the snippet in a more stable site, it would be greatly appreciated.

I think that it would be also good for future users to see some sites, what are really using this snippet.. So if you are using this and want to show your implementations to others, give me a PM with the site link and I’ll add it to the first post!

NOTE TO ALL SNIPPET USERS: About the thing that I lost all of the gallery pics, there might be some serious bug in the snippet picture removing method. I haven’t had chance to look at it yet, to see if I can reproduce it, but here’s how it goes:

When you remove all pics from one gallery, the snippet is designed to remove the folder for the pictures too. So in normal situation it should go like this: for example you have a gallery in page ID 12, then it’s pictures are in "assets/galleries/12/". When you remove all the pics from this gallery at the picture manager, it should also remove the folder "12" after the pics have been deleted.

But I guess there’s some logic error on that function, because when I lost the gallery pics, it was because the whole "galleries" folder had gotten deleted. It happened when I made a new gallery to unpublished document to the site root and played around with it from the backend side. After I did some test with different snippet calls I removed all pics from the gallery and hit save changes few times. After that I noticed that the galleries directory was nowhere to be found. It might have caused by the gallery being on the site root in an unpublished document or my site might have gotten hacked, because I wasn’t using the latest release and there have been some security fixes in the newest release I might not have (the galleries folder was world writable). So just be aware of these things..

I’m going to install the new modx version today and do some quick testing to see, if I can get the folder removing bug reproduced again, and hopefully fixed. I’ll put some demos back on later tonight.

OK, I did some testing and I can confirm that if you run the snippet in an unpublished document (no matter where in the site tree) and go to picture management, delete all pictures from one gallery, the whole gallery folder will be deleted. So don’t do it for now!!

...I’ll see now what I can do about it. There’s no problems when having the snippet in an published document.

Well, I love this snippet (and its bugs doze grin

) I have been using this on my site for a month or so without incident. it is a rather simple implementation, using only the LightBox2 feature, but if anyone wants to take a look, here it is:

Is there anyway to change the thumbnail sizes in maxigallerysolo?
