this looks pretty cool and if the site is as customizable as it claims there could be a lot of bang for the buck. i am really really impressed with modx as a cms but i overall I need a shopping cart solution with more built in features so i can focus on business rather than programming. i am still tweaking in modx/foxycart though 
haven’t given up all hope. really great links and suggestions everyone.

at least: $25 per month for Big Commerce. Save your client some money and install Zen Cart. It has everything you want (although a slight learning curve). With so many shopping cart options is perplexes me that anyone would pay on a per sale/log in and monthly fee for a shopping cart. Just my 2 cents. I have successfully installed zen cart with ModX and it works just fine!
The only problem is that you will be running two log-in areas and two front end parts of your website that you can integrate seamlessly. Since with Treasure Chest you have to manually add pages and then attach them to the products, it’s no different than with Zen Cart. Except for Zen cart has maximum functionality. I am not sure about Foxy cart integration, but they charge a monthly fee unlike Zen Cart and they host the cart. And I would pay a one time software fee if it did integrate with ModX and can be hosted on my server. Don’t see that yet.
