    ok, i´ll describe it a little bit more detailed:

    my structure is splitted into two parts:

    - the main navigation (top menu)

    and

    - an optional sub menu. the sub menu shows the docouments which are included in the selected folder of the main menu.

    i want the sub menu links displayed like in the snippet "listmenu".

      How deep is your tree?

      But I think this here is your friend for the menu on the right side:

      &startDoc=`[*parent*]`

      With that the whole thing is getting right. The start Doc is the point from where the children are displayed. So if you click on a first level point, all children of this "parent" are displayed.

        Don’t overlook the power of CSS here. If you have something like

        li ul{
        display:none;
        ]
        li.here ul{
        display:block;
        ...

        you can physically position that submenu ul anywhere on the screen you want, using "position:absolute" or "position:relative".

          @marc

          But then, if you click a child, the parents are gone (I guess). Is it that what you want to have? Or could you describe more precisely (with example) what you want to have?

          this is my problem if i use *id* or *parent*

          @scottwell

          i´ll have a look at a css-reference wink
