I believe there is conversation about this on phorum community before. The only solution that will be helpful, if each system proovide a web service to be use in integrating users or sharing some of their data accross.
That’s a very big vision, I might be thinking triangular - something along the lines of ’modX compliant’ since it clearly takes the lead position as the ultimate framework for producing standards compliant web sites.
That would certainly remove a lot of the organizational hurdles, taking the initiative and laying down a specification - companion systems revolving around modX, would bring a certain order to the universe that I imagine would frighten the pants off anyone building commercial applications.
