Seems to be an Safari-Javascript-Problem … Version 1.6 made the same Problems in Safari 3.

I have AjaxSearch 1.6 running on a site, and I have a major problem that I just can’t seem to figure out, and I think it’s caused by the call to AjaxSearch. I created a sample page to illustrate this problem: https://www.npfunds.com/secure-ssl-test-page. If you browse there in Internet Explorer, you get a message that pops up, saying "This page contains both secure and nonsecure items."

I check your site, I don’t get the message "This page contains both secure and nonsecure items". Have you changed something ?

Coroico: I finally solved it. Thank you so much for checking up. I had started another thread on it too. Let me paste from that:

Okay, so it looks like AjaxSearch loads via Window.onDomReady, and the version of mootools that came with my Modx installation (1.0) didn’t support onDomReady for SSL. Apparently since no one but me has run into this up to now, I don’t expect it’ll be a problem in the future, but in case it is, here’s the solution, for the record. Just update mootools to the latest version (1.1 currently) to support onDomReady for SSL connections.

Hello,

I might have missed this stuff elsewhere, but how can I customize the search box code and the results code. I want to change it to work with my theme instead of modifying the theme to work with the search element.

Check the AjaxSearch snippet code and you’ll find the CSS id’s and path assigned to "includes/templates.inc.php" for templating purpose.

Thanks for the quick response!

That wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, but that works! I guess was expecting more of a chunk based system like ditto and weblogin so when there are upgrade you don’t forget not to replace that file, but it still works.

I have some installation issues with AjaxSearch 1.7 undecided

I am very new to all this so I didn’t upgrade my 1.5 version but tried the parallel installations as it is described in the wiki (http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/AjaxSearch). I did it step by step, changed all the paths ftped my folder and copy-pasted into the new snippet (I called it AjaxSearchNew) the content of the snippet.ajaxSearch.php file. Then I called the snippet on a new document (using the minimal template) with the call [!AjaxSearchNew!], but all I could see in the preview was in the content area written : [[AjaxSearchNew]].
Then I tried to call it by [!AjaxSearchNew? &ajaxSearch=`0`!] but then I saw just [[AjaxSearchNew? &ajaxSearch=`0`]] written!

I can’t understand why this is not working.. (both in Firefox and in IE7)

Ps1. I didn’t download the Css file proposed in wiki at first, cause I thought it was optional. I did later on but nothing happened.
Ps2.Just because I don’t really know php: when I created the new snippet I placed the code that can be found in the snippet.ajaxSearch.php file, and made sure that the whole text was between <?php and ?>.
Ps3. I also tried the preview making the document cacheable and non-cacheable, but nothing worked.

And one last thing...
I tried the call [!AjaxSearch!] which I guess calls the 1.5 AjaxSearch snippet and it works fine in FireFox but in IE7 turns the whole page into black. (Note: not the first time I preview it but if I refresh it once then it always gets black!) And here is another thing... in the Ie7 the only thing you can see is the ’’go’’ box of the search snippet, if you press it the page gets normal and everything works... huh

I am very confused! Please give me some advise.

I’m a noob and have been reading through the forums/wiki for half a day (and finding tons of neat stuff but nothing to solve my problem)...Custom search through parents (one specific folder in the doc tree) - ok no problem
But I would like to have multiple drop down select search boxes (with forced choices, users can’t input text) that would look like this:

category:
-oranges
-apples
-bananas

taste:
-sweet
-bitter

Visitors to the website can search category or taste (doesn’t have to be both at the same time).

The ’Category’ and ’Taste’ search results are short descriptions on individual pages in the doc tree ( I was wondering if I could tag something in the doc that would limit what is searched)... these individual pages/tags could be added to or modified through the CMS.

I do not know much about programming and can’t quite figure out TVs... wondering if someone could inform me as to the level of difficulty in doing this. Is there a documented example? Can a noob learn how to do something like this, if so where to start...

Any advice is greatly appreciated, have a great day!

Hey folks, I need some help with the search results for this snippet... For some reason, when the search looks through my documents that are for Scotty D’s treasure chest snippet it’s showing the placeholders for some reason. ANy reason for this or am I doing something wrong?

[+treasure.item_name+] Donation : $[+treasure.amount+] [+treasure.add+] [+treasure.image.thumb.thickbox+] ...

That’s what is showing up in the search.
