I believe that if you make your form template with no line breaks or spaces between the tags IE won’t add that extra space. I know for sure it does this with lists, but I’m not 100% positive about other container tags.

Regarding :

the trouble comes from a language file (francais-utf8.inc.php) which includes line breaks and strange caracters.
I will correct the file and now it’s ok.
Regarding :
" 2/ Opaque color output results window is always visible with IE 6.0 even without results", i haven’t found the solution.
I don’t know how i could take into account IE specificities in the style property. Any suggestions ?

You are right it does work. It is not a perfect way as it will not show any text if images are off and you are using a bg image; it will show the text if you have the css off. Why someone would have CSS off and images on this is beyond me though. There are probably better ways to handle styling of submits either using a button element instead with the foreground text being generated by the value attribute or some other. It is not the most accessible method if you are concerned about that sort of thing.

hi there,
a site i am building has an extensive FAQ-type page which requires a search facility. is it possible to have AjaxSearch search only a specified doc id and it’s children? if not are there any other modx search snippets that might do this?
i also have a regular full site search, so is it possible to have 2 instances of AjaxSearch on the same site?

Help!
I have an install of AjaxSearch on a site and it worked great on my local host server enviroment but since uploading to production server it has stopped working. Originally I thought it had to do with having the fURLs off and the site being in a subdir but now it is live and I hav e fURLs working and I have reinstalled the AjaxSearch files. I just seem to be getting the (thinking) image with no results showing.
Any idea what might be the cause?

Arghh!?!?!?! >:(
I am still having this problem with AjaxSearch and have looked at the post response using the FireBug Extension for Firefox and it shows an Apache error response of 406 for the search output (in HTML) below:

[SOLVED]!!!
I figured out my problem.
I did a search for xmlHttpRequest and (my hostname) and found that sometimes Apache’s mod_security can cause problems with AJAX applications.
I added the following lines to my .htaccess file and now everything works like a charm.
SecFilterEngine On
SecFilterSelective "REQUEST_URI" "/index-ajax.php" "allow,nolog"
Since my host is still using Apache 1.3.3 and PHP as CGI vs my home stack which is Apache 2.2.X and PHP 5 as Apache Module.
Hope this helps someone else.

The submit -textindent worked in FF but IE 7 is having none of it. IE7 will display both image and text version of the button. Don’t have an IE fix using the method you posted?
Please bare with me if this has been answered before, I couldn’t find it:
How can I pass variables into templates.inc.php, like TVs from the searchresult-docs? Or I could ask in another way; Where does the content in the [+as.pagetitle+] come from?
What I try to make is to show a picture from the searchresult-docs-content in front of every link on the searchresult-page.
I use MODx 0.96 and AjaxSearch 1.6

It gets these $row values from the doSearch() function, which is called in line 67, after sanitizing the POST values for the search. The function is defined in line 118 of AjaxSearch.inc.php, and there are a number of different queries built, depending on the search type.
