Using the advsearch. Now I got one issue.
The standard minChar is required 3 character. I want change this to 2.
Use this [[AdvSearchForm? &asId=`as3` &minChar=`2` &landing=`100` &tpl=`searchForm` &clearDefault=`1`]], but still got this result:
Search with "ab" is invalid. Minimum number of characters allowed for a search term: 3

Is it possible to have lesser than 3 character for advSearch?

Hi,

I read most of this thread trying to make advsearch to give some results.
I'm not sure about the need of &ids parameter .
Does the search not browse all pages by default huh

Whatever I do I got either a blank result or a no result reply in English.
using this

&ids=`[[!GetIds?  &ids=`c0`]]`

(so strange)

So .. is this the only way the serach within a revo site ?

Yes. But until the 1.0.0 pl is not published, you need first fix an issue.

Thank you. simple does not do the job with TV. ModX is richly TV oriented so....

this is one the last try I made:

[[!-AdvSearchForm? 
&asId=`1` 
&ids=`[[!GetIds?  &ids=`c0,0`]]` 
&landing=`41` 
&addJQuery=`0`]]

it returns a blank content. (no more 'no result found message' ).

After I applied the patch you said, I retried using this call without any &ids. Same punishment.
blank returns.

Could you give us the snippet call of the landing page (#41)

And don't use &asId=`1` except if you have several advsearch instances on the same page.
By default you will have

asId='as0'

for advSearchForm and advSearch snippet calls.

So for the advSearchForm try:

[[!AdvSearchForm?
&landing=`41`
&addJQuery=`0`]]

And set on the landing page:

[[!AdvSearch? &addJQuery=`0`]]

Ok results are coming up BUT , well how to say:
The results text are doubled :
a bunch of results right in their expected location into my content area of the template and the same (badly styled of course) AT THE TOP of the document huh

Hello, very promising snippet but i have some problem with &engine="zend"!

if i use a tv (type fileresource) in a document, the output on the template is the ID of the ressource. If i use a snippet (getResourceField), i can output the title of the ressource from my TV.

If i search the value of the TV, in input text field, is AdvSearch able to find the ressources which contains the tv ? I tried the zend engine but the indexation script look strange.. is it normal that for 55 documents full of content and tvs, the file is only 18k huh

if i open the file i can see some title and content but not the tvs for example.. i use modx 2.1.5pl.

Yes, you should specify the TV name with withTVs parameter.
For instance:

[[!AdvSearch?  &withFields=`` &withTVs=`yourTvNames` ]]

By doing this you exclude a search inside content, description, pagetitle, ... And only ask a search inside TVs.
Except if the content of the TV is a dynamic content, you d'on't need the zend engine. mysql engine is enought.

Regarding of the size of the index files, It's not easy to know if your size files are correct or not.
Have you get any error messages during the indexation process ?
Did you change the list of documents to index inside the script ?
