Hi,
I wanted to set Template Variable Sort Order, in order to have one field appearing before "Document content".
I have tried different value for the "sort order" of the template variable, i have tried to put 1, 0, -1.
But "Document content" always appear before it,
What can i do ? Is there a solution for my problem ?
thanks in advance.
Ok, thanks for your quick reply.
I think that field "sort order" in the form for defining template variables affects the sort order of the different options for that template variable
for instance when a tv is a dropdown..
The field sort order doesnt seem to influence the place (order) in which the template variables are shown, that can be controlled by going to the resources > manage resources > template >> template variables >> change the order of the template variables ...
Bingo! Many thanks. That’ll up the manager usability a notch.
Oh yes - that’s well hidden. Good stuff. Thanks again!
Well, funnily enough now I know where it is it makes perfect sense to have it there because its template specific. Guess I wasn’t looking hard enough . Can’t think of anywhere better for it at the moment.
You know what would be good to have here? Some way to organise/group template variables within the manager - I’ve set up blocks that the user can toggle on and off and it would be great to be able to have each set of associated TV’s for each block in it’s own box with a title on it. Just a thought...

Since TVs might not remain tied to templates in the future, the most intuitive thing you could do is make all available TV fields when editing a document draggable and sortable (imagine how cool that would be

). Even better, you could add icons to remove the TV from the document or add one for that matter (but I am getting ahead there, TVs are still tied to templates not documents).
