Sorry, I asked that question without thinking it through. I just used firebug to change the css settings to bring the input box back into view and filled it in.
However, I have found that my eform submission does not work with the eFormOnValidate parameter (with or without filling in the dummy last_name field.
After hitting the submit button it shows the same url I hit submit from and displays a white blank screen. No error messages.
Here is the pertinent information:
In the form template I have
<input name="last_name" id="cflname" class="eform_input" type="text" eform="last_name::0:" />
for the dummy field.
Here is my eform call
[!eForm? &formid=`ContactForm` &subject=`[+subject+]` &to=`[email protected]` &tpl=`ContactForm` &report=`ContactFormReport` &thankyou=`ContactThanks` &cssStyle=`ContactStyles` &eFormOnValidate=`eCheckField`!]
And here is my eCheckField Snippet
