    Hmm.. I’ve run into this thread by searching.. I need the same thing..

    I have an account with PayPal..

    I need users to be able to register.. When they do they will be part of one user group.. Then they should be able to pay a fee via PayPal and be automatically moved to a different user group... And it should also be possible to set it up, so after an amount of days, the user will be moved back to the old user group again.. ready for a new payment..

    Fairly simple compared to what some of you guys have worked out.. right?

    I can see this is an old thread so I’m hoping someone has come far in the process of this..
    Actually there is a MODx module that can handle paid memberships but not exactly in the way you are describing above ... accomplishes the same thing, but not through a free way like I’m guessing you’re trying to accomplish through Paypal:

    The only catch...you have to use Foxy Cart ($15/month) to handle the Credit Card transaction ... it’s a very powerful e-commerce platform.  I’ve installed it (Foxy Cart) with about 10+ MODx sites over the last year and I’ve got a few in the works right now.  Honestly I haven’t used Foxy Back yet (module above), but knowing what Foxy Cart produces, I’m sure it will be awesome.  As far as your requirement for it working with Paypal, I don’t think that will work, but with Foxy Cart ($15/month) and CDG Commerce ($10/month), you’re getting a pretty good deal (IMO) for the functionality you need.

      That was my sarcasm not translating. wink

      I’ve got a custom solution made that and is no where close to ready as a standalone module that works with PayPal for a club dues system. It handles pending payments, renewals and new memberships, creating accounts as appropriate. It also fills out the renewal/payment form for you for renewing members with their existing data. It’d be trivial to get it to go to recurring/subscription payments, too.

      But again, it’s now where close to ready as a standalone module (and is still having some tweaks made, too). It would take a lot of work before I’d remotely feel comfortable releasing any portion of it, much less it in full.

      Hello,

      No news about this project ?
      Thanks

          @rthrash,

          I understand this is an old topic, but it is very relevant. Have you made any progress on this feature? I understand it may still be in a "development/tweak" phase, but I would like to try an implement it. I have been working on a WebLoginPE/Foxcyart SSO API integration, but am not where I want to be on it. If this is available and somewhat working, it would get me a lot closer to delivery on my project.

          Thanks so much!

            I don’t really have much to share on that front. Perhaps you could look at some of the things done with Foxycart here.

              I was just asking in reference to the comment you made a couple of years ago...about paying for it. I have been working on the FoxyCart stuff, but documentation is limited. I will be trying to put together a wiki once I get all of it ironed out. It just might take a few months. I need to get a project done prior to that.

              Thanks.
