Help needed with selecting images

Hopefully someone can help me out with this.

I can’t seem to find a way to get thumbnail images to display when I’m editing the content of pages in MODx.

So for example, when you want to change an image when editing a page, you click the select button, and it pops open a window with all the image names. However, the image icons are all the same. There’s no way to visually identify which image is which.

I’m wondering if there’s any way to display a thumbnail of the image instead of the default photo icon. It seems like there should be a way to do it - I just can’t seem to figure out how.

Last time I asked a question I got a response very quickly with the answer to my problem, so I’m hoping that will be the case here, too.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

thumbnails should actually be shown. Cannot remeber myself why it shows a photo but I did see this behaviour once before. I am sure someone will tell you what you need to chnage but I just wanted you to know its setting issue somewhere

Do you have the image libraries installed on your server?

Mark - How do we go about doing that?

Does the actuall image show OK in the website?

If so this may be a permissions or paths problem in the Resource Browser, I’ve been through this myself.

Ok, no go so far.

I have set the persmission on the image directory to 777, but it’s still not working.

I guess the problem is on the server settings. Can someone tell me what the correct settings for "Resource path" and "Resource URL" are?

My settings are:
Resource path: /[[modx_root]]/assets
Resource path: http://[[site_url]]/assets

it depends from your server settings: resource path should be something like :

/home/yourdomain/assets/

or

/var/www/html/assets/

resource url is:

http://www.yourdomain.com/assets/

Thanks guys, but it’s still NOT working. Basically, no thumbnail was created. There was no errors shown on the interface. Again, I can see and select those images, just they were displayed as default photo icons instead of thumbnails.

briggsys, the images show OK on the website. The permission for assets/images is set to 777.

banzai, my setting is almost the same as you mentioned, the only difference is that I am using IP instead of URL.
