TinyMCE 4.0.4-rc2 fails to install under revolution

I’m afraid I’m out of ideas on what is happening for you. Maybe someone else can suggest a solution.

I’m just formatting the text and inserting pix with hmtl/css for my clients’ articles for the time being until this bug is fixed.

Nice site. I like both the design and the content.

One tiny suggestion: When you scroll to the bottom of the pages, it’s not clear that you’re at the end, and on some pages, it looks like there might be more material that you can’t reach.

I think it would help to have some kind of footer in the page template -- even if it’s just a small black-and-white fruitfly logo -- just something to let readers know they’ve reached the bottom of each page.

BTW, at least one other user is using this open-source RTE editor in place of TinyMCE with MODx: http://elrte.org/. I think it will work with the NewsPublisher snippet for rich-text editing in the front end.

Now that I think of it, NewsPublisher *might* allow you to use TinyMCE in the front end if the TinyMCE files are installed even though Tiny won’t work for you in the Manager, since it’s a separate interface.

Bob! You’ve been a tremendous help. The footer is a great suggestion, it crossed my mind at one point; that will be a good tweak.
And thanks so much for the elRTE and NewsPublisher suggestions, I’m going to try those!

MODx Revolution 2.0.7-pl (traditional)
Linux linweb12.atlas.pipex.net 2.6.18-194.17.4.el5
mysql 5.1.47, pdo installed
php 5.2.6 CGI/Fast CGI
Used multiple browsers (Safari, Chrome, FF, IE)

Had the exact same problems with TinyMCE, seems to install OK but doesn’t appear in resources. The same 3 system events are not recognised when attempting to uninstall. Any help would be greatly appreciated as a CMS without WYSIWYG for end users is a bit of a struggle!!

Came back to this project and updated Revo to 2.1 and installed the TinyMCE upgrade that came out June 22nd. IT WORKS!!!! Thank you so much ModX crew for working on this and making new versions!!!
