What I’m wanting to implement is 2 slightly different things along the same lines. Firstly I need an Events listing page that removes events after their date has passed. So for example if I had an event listing for a Bonfire party on the 5th November at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm the listing would unpublish itself after 9:30 pm on the 5th November. Secondly I need to be able to set an expiry date for items on a News listing page so that News items would unpublish on or after that expiry date. Each item would need it’s own expiry date. Manually setting an expiry date would also be fine for the events feature actually so really it’s just the second bit I need to be able to implement.
I’m not being lazy here, I’m pretty good at the design and CSS side of things (can’t wait to start templating) and I can code a little but I’m new to Modx and I’m trying to determine whether it is the right choice for several different projects I have waiting to get going. The scheduling stuff is pretty integral to these projects but I haven’t got time to learn how to code it before I make the desicion to go with it. So, I need some informed advice on whether things are actually possible or not.
