Support/Comments for BkupMODx

I love BkupMODx, so I installed BkupMODx 2.2 for a collegue designer.

Now I get this warning:


When I test the backup, I get this message during backup:


What can I do to get BkupMODx working?

PHP version is 5.2.6.

BkupMODx is not designed to work under PHP safe mode. If you have access to the php.ini file turn off safe mode or ask the administrator to turn it off. MODx is supposed to alert you to safe mode on installation. Did that happen?

The installation of modx was quite a while ago, so I don’t know if there was any alert of safe mode. Even if there was, I wouldn’t have known that BkupMODx wouldn’t function.

I will try to get safe mode turned off.

Sorry but I should have said that safe mode prevents PHP scripts from changing certain values like "set_time_limit(x)" and ini_set(’memory_limit’,y) which are used by BkupMODx. I didn’t mean to imply that it was something that you should have or could have known.

Installed BkupMODx and it seems to work however the mysql dumps are being deleted automatically and are not included in the zip file.

What could be wrong here? This is the final message of the script:

Have you looked in the /backup/archive directory inside the zip file?

If your backup_dir value includes the /backup/archive directory then that’s where the MySQL files can be found. The process is designed to delete the MySQL files as a final step so they don’t get included in the next time BkupMODx is run. Hope that helps!

That did the trick. I included the archive dir and now all’s well.

I have managed to run BkupMODx, but in Tools page I see only some list with icons, but they don’t do anything. There’s something missing, but I can’t find any screenshot of the inside, nor a simple "how-to-backup" instructions, so don’t know what should be next. Please, make me clear! I’d appreciate Your help.

What browser are you using? There is an object area (like an iframe) missing from the display.
