Looks like I’ve got a new task on my hands...apparently the SMF Connector (bridge) doesn’t play nice w/ WLPE. Looks like it was tied directly to the former WebLogin snippet... We have login, just no forum access (begins rollback process...)

I just thought of an great idea, with the advent of having "private" fields.

Say one of your members puts something in a field that goes against your ToS. Now, if you delete it, they might be an arse and add it again. So in the Manage type view, create the Private field for that.

Since only an admin can edit this value, that means the user can’t do anything, because they can’t edit that value.

Cool, eh?

Great work on the bug stomping for the event ~~invoking~~ invocation.
I have made corrections with your suggestions on event order in the Login() method.
I have also taken your suggestion and placed a error trap in each of the Event methods as well.
I am going to wait a few more days for more feedback to trickle in before posting 1.3.1.

How odd --- my custom fields won’t populate. Here’s my text for the profile editor...

EDIT: Is there any way to control where the avatar gets uploaded to? It’s wanting to go to the root of my website, which isn’t allowed, which obviously gives a MODx critical error. This is the error...

No, WebLoginPE takes the value from the parameter &customFields and separates it at the commas putting each word that you had in the comma separated list into an array.
Next it checks the table specified in &customTable (or {PREFIX}web_user_attributes_extended if customTable is not specified) for columns by the name of each item in the array. If it finds the name (i.e. the table column exists already) it goes to the next item in the array. If it does not find a column by that name, it creates it for you.

When you look at your MODx database using phpMyAdmin (or whatever you prefer), do you see the extended user table and are the columns you put in &customFields in there? They should be created for you.

The next step is getting data into that table. You need to specify &customFields everywhere you want to use those custom fields, so... registration pages, profile pages, view user pages.

Only when a user submits data on a page with &customFields called does the data get stored in the database.

I think you (or maybe it was someone else, sorry) asked about links to a users profile without going through the &type=`users` page. Here is how

If the &type=`users` page has the ID 151, then you can put this anywhere in your site:

If this is on the web users profile page, you can use

I’ve entered into &customFields all of the custom fields, obviously, since the database recognized it and created them. I also made the &inputHandlers for the checkboxes.

I just noticed that I had an extra || at the end of the inputHandlers. But that still didn’t get rid of the issue of not seeing the checkboxes. I’m not even seeing them at all. I dunno why, since the form nae in the chunk and the custom field and the inputHandler are done like it should. The normal text fields are saving right, so if we can figure out how to get the checkboxes to appear, it should work okay.

And that avatar issue is still appearing, since it’s trying to save to the root of the site.

Also, am I correct in assuming that the [+form.whatever+] placeholder inputs are NOT showing up on the page? Is there a blank area where you are expecting to see the form elements for that placeholder?

Yep. I have them inside of a <td> tag, so the table’s basically collasped, because there’s nothing inside of it. And the call and the avatar upload MODx error is on this post...
