w00t, v1.3.0 finally got released.

A few quick questions I have, concerning some stuff I found in the documentation...

1) I noticed on the demo website how everyone’s avatar had their username as the filename. In PPP, it uploaded with whatever filename the image had --- does WLPE automatically change it to the username, or did your users rename it before they uploaded the images?

Never mind about that. I just saw it in the API doc.

2) &inputHandler [<select multible>] When multiple items are selected, how do they get stored in the database? Basically, I’m wondering how it’ll appear when it’s outputed in their profile w/ more than one "favorite color", using your example in the documentation.

3) If I used the "verify" registration, I assume once they enter in the verification code, then they will be able to "edit" their data before their profile is created (i.e., see all of the profile fields the "instant" reg. form has)?

I’m going to be converting over to WLPE tonight, so hopefully everything should turn out okay.

@Shoshite,

If you are currently using any plugins tied to the OnWebLogin system event, I would delay your migration until I/others can confirm it is being invoked as intended. If you review my last few messages, you’ll see that their appears to be an issue w/ that event when a user enters incorrect password.

IIRC, I don’t run anything that does that. So I *shouldn’t* have an issue. I’m going to check to make sure, though.

Also note that there is a problem (at least at my two test sites) with international characters.

A user can sign up like MÖDx, but if trying to log in they will get the answer "The username you entered does not exist."

Don’t know if that should be an issue for your site though...

Also I have problems uploading picture... no success and no error message... will test some more!

I’ve yet to have a special character used in PPP. I’ll probably add a notice about it in the registration template, though, until it gets fixed.

Hi all

I have a problem (using WLPE 1.3)...... Now, when I use {!WebLoginPE?!} in my sidebar everything works ok, but
when you click on register button,everything gets wrapped within that sidebar....now I tried to use [!WebSignupPE? &type=`register` &regType=`instant`!] just to see what will happen rolleyes

....and nothing did happen huh

I tried using different type of & combination,adding chunks,and nothing....then I tried {!WebLoginPE?!} again, and everything worked,but again as I said register wrapped....I’m using XAMPP, maybe that is the problem,or am doing everything wrong,or is there something that I don’t do that make things wrong, I’ve read all docs there is,and view source of the demo page to try to figure it out,and nothing.I still have old Modx WebLogin set up,maybe that is causing the problem,I dunno... :’(

Can someone make a tutorial in MoDx Wiki,how to set up WebLoginPE,step-by-step?
Something very basic,nothing fancy. wink

That way I could figure out what is wrong,or maybe someone already knows the solution? Do you?

I was using WebSignupPE? instead WebLoginPE? embarrassed

Tried it and it works like a swiss clock! Though am still trying to figure out how to show register form in the main content area instead in the sidebar,after user clicks on the register button,anyone?

Hi pixelchutes,

Yes I did,but I just cant figure out how to manipulate with the form,for instance how to show register form in the main content area instead in the sidebar,after user clicks on the register button. I’am all new to this,and still trying to figure out alot of things,but I just adore ModX! cool

I found it!

Scotty is using the following code at the top of each API method to check if there was an error on the step before it:

		if (!empty($this->Report))
		{
			return; //There was an error in the last step
		}

However, this piece of code is NOT contained within the "System Event" methods

Soooo... take this scenario:

//<?php
		$this->UserIsBlocked(); // This returns fine
		$this->Authenticate(); // Whoops - Wrong password, there was an error
		$this->SessionHandler('start'); // Whoops - Error on last step, don't run me
		$this->UserDocumentGroups(); // Whoops - Error on last step, don't run me
		$this->OnWebLogin(); // RUN ME!!! (Runs out of order since user wasn't authenticated!!)
		// If the system event calls checked for errors, they would still run in the correct order :)
		$this->ActiveUsers();

// ...

		if (!empty($this->Report))
		{
			return; //There was an error in the last step
		}

By adding the above code to the OnWebLogin system event function (Add it to approx Line # 3002), I get the "incorrect password" message as intended, and my MODx Plugin (event: OnWebLogin) does NOT run! wink

Now, the question is whether or not it makes sense to put the "error checking" in any of the other event functions...

I noticed an bug while just installing 1.3.0 (haven’t converted from PPP to WLPE yet). Seems [+user.lastlogin+] isn’t parsing at all. This was working in 1.1.1, IIRC.

Total # of Logins works like it should, however.
