        It was no big deal. If you do get that message again, just go to that line in the file and fix the path to the include. If it has the ./includes/ then try it without it; if it doesn’t have it add it. Playing with the php.ini file settings just saved somebody a little typing, that’s all.

        The modified files should work just fine on any host, even with the set_include_path function working.

        It would be interesting, however, to find out why the set_include_path (and ini_set, I tried that as well) doesn’t work.

          Thanks I had been doing some version comparison with PS Pad helping me understand your work smiley

          I PM’d you again everything was working A OK until I switched language to french.

          Then I got this :

          Warning: main(lang/english.inc.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/free.fr/d/8/david.molliere/manager/includes/lang/francais.inc.php on line 12

          Warning: main(): Failed opening 'lang/english.inc.php' for inclusion (include_path='/var/www/free.fr/d/8/david.molliere/include:.') in /var/www/free.fr/d/8/david.molliere/manager/includes/lang/francais.inc.php on line 12

          I checked but it seems you have properly changed the path for language files includes in manager/index.php :

          $_lang = array();
          include_once "./includes/lang/english.inc.php";
          $length_eng_lang = count($_lang);
          if($manager_language!="english") {
          	include_once "./includes/lang/".$manager_language.".inc.php";
          }

          I can’t find anything useful on line 12 from the language files, I probably miss something due to my lack of skills in PHP... I am currently trying to find all includes to language files, found one in accesscontrol.inc.php, still browsing files right now...

          Why is it that there is such a path problem ?
          Could that be solved with a ReWriteBase directive in .htaccess ? Dumb me, mod_rewrite is off...

            Did you check to make sure the fr.inc.php file is really there?

              Yes I did the francais.inc.php file is there, my idea was the file is called from another one which is not manager/index.php, that’s why I started checking other files for path to those language files...

                In that case, it probably doesn’t need the ./includes/ part. Just leave it at lang/xxx.php

                    It was a standing joke the whole time I was working in a little computer shop in Netanya a few years ago; almost every time the phone rang, it was somebody calling to invite me for a weekend in Paris! Of course, it was more like a weekend in the shop fixing somebody’s cheapclone PC.

                    I always wanted to go to France; I studied French in high school, and planned to finish my degree at the Sorbonne. It never happened; what did happen is a long story. But someday I will get to Paris!

                      Well, anytime, I know some nice place to grab something nice for a decent price and also nice spots for wine tasting smiley

                      Back on the issue : I tried to put the path back to where it was for language includes but it didn’t work. Then I realized there was something that explained why it failed with french language while it worked with english language. This is in manager/index.php @line 160 :

                      include_once "lang/".$manager_language.".inc.php";

                      Which I replaced by :

                      include_once "./includes/lang/".$manager_language.".inc.php";

                      it SHOULD work, shouldn’t it ?
                      But it does not...

                      One error has disapeared but the other one is still there :

                      Warning: main(lang/english.inc.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/free.fr/d/8/david.molliere/manager/includes/lang/francais.inc.php on line 12

                      Warning: main(): Failed opening 'lang/english.inc.php' for inclusion (include_path='/var/www/free.fr/d/8/david.molliere/include:.') in /var/www/free.fr/d/8/david.molliere/manager/includes/lang/francais.inc.php on line 12

                      I don’t know MODx code that well yet, I am a bit lost and I don’t understand why error reporting does not indicate where is it called from ? That would help...

                      Would changing error reporting settings to error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE & ~E_STRICT be of any help ? OK it did not
