    I am able to open it with either winzip or WXP internal compression.

    You might want to un-install winzip and try a different version.

    I have a problem with QuickEdit when I tried to edit a content it pop up with a dialog box. Please see attach.

    Everything else look good!

    Thanks

    PS: QuickEdit does not show up at all in IE. That is strange!

      Is this an upgrade or a fresh install?

      From the looks of it I’d say that the plugin is not finding the module id. You should check to make sure that a dependency exists between the QuickEdit module and the QuickEdit plugin. To check this go to Manage modules and edit the QuickEdit module and then go to the Dependencies tab. If the QuickEdit plugin is not listed then click Manage dependencies, Add Plugin and select QuickEdit.

      Also you should check the Event log viewer to see if there are any QuickEdit errors in there.

      If you’re still having problems, save the html output of the page with the edit links on it and attach it here.

      About IE, the links should work fine as long as you are logged in as someone with sufficient permissions. I did notice that you don’t get the hand on mouseover because it’s a javascript link. I’ve fixed it in my code and it’ll make it into the next release.

        Adam,

        It is an upgrade and it turn out it has the same problem in both FF and IE.

        I went ahead wipe out the old install and re-install as new so everything is working now.

        So my take is the upgrade process does not work well for QuickEdit.

          Cool,

          I see the problem here.

          The installer does not upgrade things like Module Guid or configuration settings as these could have been changed since the last install. For example a user might choose to change the GUID etc.

          One quick work around to is to remove the QuickEdit module/plugin from your Content Manager then run the upgrade to have it reinstall the QuickEdit plugin.

          Earlier versions of QuickEdit used a different GUID from the one shipped with TP3.2

          Future versions of the installer will attempt to correct such minor set backs.

            Thanks for solving this problem for me. It probably would have taken me a while to get to the bottom of it.

              I have another issue:

              in IE the mouseover displays a texttypehere symbol instead of the hand I see in FF when hovering the Quickedit buttons.

                Yea, I’m afraid I missed that one. It still works just fine the cursor just won’t look the way it should. We’ll get it fixed in the next release.

                For now you can add

                a.QuickEditLink{
                cursor:pointer;
                }

                to either your own css files or to the output.css file in the /assets/modules/quick_edit/ directory.

                  A quick update on the "No record found for id 0" issue:
                  I updated a site today and saw this first hand. The issue is that the upgrade creates two dependencies between the QuickEdit module and the QuickEdit plugin. To fix it, go to the QuickEdit modules Dependencies tab and delete both the dependencies, then add a new one and save. Then go into the QuickEdit plogin Configuration tab and choose to import parameters from the QuickEdit module.

                  That should do it. In future releases we’ll make sure that this doesn’t happen.

                  Happy editing smiley

                    Just did a fresh install of the latest release of modx - the quick edit is not working at all - clicking on e.g. editing the long title, I’m getting the following errors:

                    1. line 34 - parent.menu is null
                    2. no record found for ID 0
                    3. line 29 top scripter is null

                    after all those error, I then get a popup to manage modules??

                    the installation went smoothly - that’s why I don’t understand why I get those errors.

                    I meanwhile figured out that the tinyMCE plugin totally screws things up here - as soons as I install the plugin, the quickedit doesn’t work anymore - with the default installation (fckeditor) it works with no errors so far.

                    any ideas how to fix this - I don’t like to use fckeditor?

                    thank you

                      Did you clear out the database on your new install? One way or another I’d check the dependencies as mentioned below. Also check the Event Logs to see if there are any errors from QuickEdit. If that still doesn’t do it let me know.
