On the blog page, the listing shows title, date, tags, and summary now that’s fine...but also jot form for comment.
    About this part, change
    &commentsChunk=`Comments`

    to
    &removeChunk=`Comments`

I think the name of the parameter has been changed.
    http://ditto.modxcms.com/files/snippet-ditto-php.html#removeChunk

when i click on one post it opens a page with the full content...and the full content only no title, no date, no tags, no comments, no jot form.
That depends on the structure of your site template.
If you put [*content*] only in your site template, that is the normal output.
Check the template asigned to that document.
The title, date and tags are not automatically included in the [*content*] field.

    But one thing is strange.
I believe you put {{Comments}} in the content field of that post page.
So Jot comments and form should be displayed...
Try clearing MODx cache and browser cache.

Yes it was removeChunk before but on the wiki i saw with commentsChunk so i replaced it. Now i put removeChunk again but no changes.
On my blog post template it’s only [*content*] but like the examples i’ve seen. Except that they have a title too but the problem is not the title it’s the date, tags and comments. And my blog list page and my blog post template are exactly the same template and on the list it show all of that but not on my post page where it shows only the content.
I cleared both modx and browser cache..no changes.

I swear if i can figure it out, i’m gonna do a complete tutorial on how to create a blog with modx. Modx is so great can’t believe the blog thing is not easier than that.

With the latest version (I think it is 2.1.0) of Ditto, it should be &removeChunk.
The wiki content is a little old.

but the problem is not the title it’s the date, tags and comments.
About date and tags, you have to manually add them to your site template.
This is a little tricky, though.

About date, for example, the editiedon field contains last edited date&time with unixtime format. So you have to convert it to human readable format by for example DateTime snippet, which can be downloadable from the MODx resouces.

About tags, I think documentTags TV holds them. If you want them to be displayed with links, you need TvTagCloud snippet or something similar.

Are you developping your site locally ?
If it is a live site, let us know the URL for us to see what is goin on your site.

        EDIT:
I forgot to write one more tricky thing.
I think you need date and tags to be displayed on those post document only.
So if you put date / tags related things in your site template, you have to suppress them to display on other pages.

Thank’s a lot really for you precious help. I didn’t think i had to manually add date and tages and everyting on my template it does’nt say anything like that on the wiki.
I’m not developping the site locally but that part is not online yet as i’m not done with it. The rest of the site is though. I just test it offline.
Maybe i can give you my login/pass in private if you want to look at it.

Ok now i could figure it out for the comments on the post page...stupid..i just forgot to add {{Comments}} after my content but still don’t see date and tags on that page.

Well, ok i think my problems start to be solved.
First for the comments, i changed my Ditto call from [[ ]] to [! !] and it worked. The removeChunks works and don’t show my coments on my blog page.
I forgot {{comments}} at the end of my post pages so now it works and i can see comments and jot form
But what i still can’t find out it’s the date and tags that don’t show up on my page. But apparently on the demo wbesite it doesn’t appear neither.
So do you know where i can put my tags and date and eventually author to appear on my post ?

About the author and the date, check out AuthorTimestamp snippet.

And about the tag links, check out TvTagCloud snippet.

I believe these snippets can help you to achieve what you want.

I am also trying to set up a Wordpress style blog using Modx.
From your discussion here, you have better knowledge of Modx than me, but I can generally follow what you are doing.
As I can also not find an current wiki about how to set up a simple WP style blog, it would be great if you could close out this thread by posting how you finally arrived at the outcome, what snippets/chunks etc you put where.
This would be an huge help to me (and I guess other learners)!

                    Hi,
I didn’t try to do a wordpress like but just a simple blog.
There’s a couple of tutorials that i used here :
                    http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Creating_a_Blog_like_in_the_Default_Content
                    http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Basic_Blog
                    http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Blog_Simple

And for the wordpress style here :
                    http://ditto.modxcms.com/tutorials/wordpress-style-archives.html

                    Good luck

Thanks for those links, I will try to build my blog using those methods. How did they hide these wikis so well?
I also just want a simple blog, doesn’t have to look, work or really be like Wordpress, it’s just that Wordpress is the go-to for this sort of thing.
The blog is a small part of the site I’m building, and I don’t think the work to either incoporate WP or make WP look how this blog needs to look would be worthwhile or give a good result.
While I appreciate the links, I ask again that you contribute a ’do this, then this, then this’ wrap up to this thread.
