Do you use XDebug much for actual debugging in MODx, or mostly just for profiling.
Mostly profiling... I find remote debugging useful in desperate situations, but haven’t historically been able to use it with MODx (cause of the eval()); I typically use the xPDO->log() function to do most of my debugging now, e.g. to print something out with the standard ERROR logging level:
$modx->log(MODX_LOG_LEVEL_ERROR, 'debug: object = ' . print_r($object->toArray(), true);
But with Revolution you can take full advantage of remote debugging since the scripts are generated into the cache directories and included instead of eval()’d directly from source. I often times use the cached script file to put debugging statements in while I’m trying to work something out, then just copy and paste the script back into the MODx manager UI when I have it all worked out, and that will work well with testing quick changes when using a remote debugging tool.
