I only want the content editors to be able to see certain directories in the ’Files’ tree/tab such as ’assets’ - where the images are stored, so they can upload photos into the ’images’ directory. They don’t need to see the other files outside of the ’assets’ directory. Is there a way to do this? Any help would be most gratefully received. Thank you.

Check the filemanager_path setting under System -> System Settings -> File system.
Awesome. Thanks very much for your help.
Because I changed the file manager path to show only the ’assets’ folder, the problem I now have is that when images are added to the page the file path now looks like this and the browser doesn’t display image:
<img src="/images/photos/music/215x150/image.jpg">
The file path needs to be like this to work, as the images are actually in the assets folder:
<img src="/assets/images/photos/music/215x150/image.jpg">
Have you any idea how I can fix this please? Is it something to do with the ’Resource path’?
Thank you.
Hi,
Maybe can you try by changing the filemanager_path only in the user settings and not the global settings?
I can only see site wide System Settings, I’m using Modx Revolution.
Do you know where I can find the user only settings please?
Thanks.

User only settings are to be found under Security > Manage Users > editing a user.
Try setting the filemanager_url to assets/ as well, sorry I didn’t mention that.
(The path is how PHP finds it, the url is the browser accessible location)
I sometimes also play around with the rb_base_* settings though I’m not 100% sure which affects what...
Edit: Oops, no slash to start with.
Thanks for that, still no luck. I now have the following in my system settings... Any other ideas? Thank you.
Uhm, do "assets/", not "/assets/".

Thanks, however still no luck.
Maybe I will just be stuck with all site editors being able to see all files from the root directory, this isn’t really ideal though as one can imagine there will be uploaded images everywhere!
