    Any news on how to put a cap on the amount of tags?
    Didn’t you read the post by BBloke himself ?
    He hacked this snippet code and found the solution.

      Yes, SEO-Strict URLs in use, and updated to 1.0.1. It is set though to append an extension to a folder.
      Rewriting folder to append extention causes problem with SEO Strict URLs plugin.
      Here is an example problem of posting comments with Jot.

      I guess appended parameters are thrown away when rewriting the url by that plugin.

      I made some modification to this plugin and it looks working.
      But I am not a PHP coder so I am not sure this is the exact solution...
      Try replacing the plugin with this, if you are brave enough ! wink

        Oops, thanks. I did read this and glanced at the code and didn’t think it did what I needed. It does! Thanks.

            thanks tkfm, I’ll keep that in mind.

            For now, my changes seem to be working, so I may just run with that until I have time to dig in deeper.

            cheers

              TvTagCloud looks nifty, but can’t get it to work.

              My landing page just giving "Document not found".

              on TvTagCloud page, says to use:
              [!TvTagCloud? &parent=`1` &landing=`22` &tvTags=`docTags` &showCount=`1`!]

              (here, I have substituted number of my landing page for "22")
              and (for landing page)

              [!Ditto? &parents=`1` &tagData=`docTags` &tagDelimiter=`,`!]

              - in above, seeing "amp:", which I’ve come to think isn’t needed in the code, so edited out.

              instructions in .txt file not quite same; say to use:
              [!TvTagCloud? &parent=`1` &landing=`22` &tvTags=`docTags` &showCount=`1`!]
              and
              [!ditto? &startID=`1` &tagData=`tvdocTags` &tagDelimiter=`,`!]

              I’ve tried a few things here.
              Wasn’t sure if should be parent or parents, or if doesn’t matter; tried both.

              Seen re startID and parent; maybe former deprecated, but don’t know if could still work.

              Tried parent=0, as well as 1, and numbers for document folders holding documents w tags; also added depth=2.

              And documents not found stubbornly persist.

              Also - in my template, there’s part where can add tags separated by spaces; yet when I see the tags listed on page where I have the amended
              [!TvTagCloud? &parent=`1` &landing=`22` &tvTags=`docTags` &showCount=`1`!]
              code, don’t get words, but the words including spaces, as individual tags.
              Tried something in the code re delimiter =` ’ - but no change.
              Also, I’ve tried setting &displayType=`cloud’ - and produced list.

              So, as can happen at times w computer stuff, maybe straightforward if goes well, but if not, befuddling

                First off, many thanks Mark for this snippet, which is working superbly. Very cool facility.

                I have a couple of q’s tho.

                1. Most importantly, can anyone give me a basic eg of how to get the &steps and &styles working? These two parameters aren’t so straightforward as the others and there’s only one thread in this topic asking about that, but no reply. I guess &steps=`1,5,10` is about right, but how do I have the &styles values relate to the &steps values? I’m using this call...

                [!TvTagCloud? &parent=`0` &landing=`30` &tvTags=`docTags` &tagDelim=`,` &sort=`asc` &steps=`1,5,10` &styles=`tags1,tags5,tags10` &displayType=`cloud` &tooltip=`Read ([+count+]) pages about [+tag+]`!]

                ... and, by way of a simple test, I’ve placed this in my stylesheet...

                #tags1 {
                color:grey;
                }
                #tags5 {
                color:red;
                }
                #tags10 {
                color:blue;
                }

                But it looks like I’m not on the right track here...any clues?

                2. OK, this is a bit fussy, but I’ve got another, less important query, if anyone happens to know...

                Rather than the standard ’text’ input type, I’ve set up my TV for Listbox, using a chunk with the various options (tx to Heliotrope for the idea). I like the checkbox option too, for this tag facility. With both the checkbox and the listbox input options, everything works out until I save the page. Here’s the problem; if I want to edit my tag options on any given page, and go back to that page, my original choices are no longer highlighted. Is there some little addition to the snippet I can use to highlight this code, or is it a TV issue requiring a modx hack?

                Cheers folks, Olly.

                  @DocMartin, maybe try adding &depth=`10` parameter to your ditto call. did it 4 me.

                    #tags1 {
                    color:grey;
                    }
                    For the first question, the styles are outputted as classes (class="tag1") rather than ids.
                    Check your source of HTML ! So change "#tag1" to ".tag1".

                      Tx Tkfm,

                      Yes, er, definitely a class thing embarrassed

                      I figure there may be a few folks who have had a similar head scratcher. So, here’s an example, and you can see the result on the attached jpeg.

                      Here’s my call...

                      [!TvTagCloud? &parent=`0` &landing=`30` &tvTags=`docTags` &tagDelim=`,` &sort=`asc` &steps=`14,25,34,51,100` &styles=`tag5,tag4,tag3,tag2,tag1` &displayType=`cloud` &tooltip=`Read [+count+] pages about [+tag+]`!]

                      ... the relevant bit above is &steps=`14,25,34,51,100` &styles=`tag5,tag4,tag3,tag2,tag1`

                      Here’s that call included in the rest of the code, to illustrate the other styling...

                      <div id="keywords">
                      <div id="keyword-image"><img src="[(base_url)]assets/images/keyword.gif" alt=""/></div>
                      <div id="tags" class="scroll">[!TvTagCloud? &parent=`0` &landing=`30` &tvTags=`docTags` &tagDelim=`,` &sort=`asc` &steps=`14,25,34,51,100` &styles=`tag5,tag4,tag3,tag2,tag1` &displayType=`cloud` &tooltip=`Read [+count+] pages about [+tag+]`!]</div>
                      </div>

                      And here’s my CSS...

                      #keywords{height:185px;margin-bottom:5px;}
                      #keyword-image{float:left;width:34px;}
                      #tags{float:left;height:180px;width:212px;margin-bottom:5px;padding:2px;text-align:justify;}
                      .tag5{font-size:1.7em;color:#600;}
                      .tag4{font-size:1.5em;color:#900;}
                      .tag3{font-size:1.3em;color:#C00;}
                      .tag2{font-size:1.1em;font-style:italic;color:#C90;}
                      .tag1{font-size:.8em;color:#999;}
                      #tags a:hover{background:#FC0;color:white;}
                      .scroll{overflow:auto;}

                      I’ve not got many tags in my site yet, so may have to change some of the CSS values to allow for growing content, but that’s a start.

                      Hope that helps.

                      Olly.
