Cheers for that - tried &parents and &parent in Ditto, and no joy with either. I’ve been through all the other posts and tried all that stuff, and still nothing :-(

    All most annoying!

I can’t seem to recreate your problem, when I use your snippet calls I get the correct results.

Which document is id 2? The archive doc?

And which documents are you tagging? The October 05 and November 05 ones?

Your search results page (http://www.rationalrec.org.uk/archive/search-results.html) isn’t returning any results even without the (?tags=) parameter. It should at least be returning season 1, season 2 and season 3. Are those 3 pages set to be unpublished?

Well, I’m glad its just me Bob - that means whatever’s wrong for me is fixable.

Document ID 2 is the Archive page - a folder containing (at present) one folder (with October and November in it) and three other pages.

See image below of my MODx site structure for more.

October 2009 and November 2009 documents are both tagged (Oct09 with knoop,le strange, bookish, aloi, chadwick, yong, raffle, separation, ives, toovey, fundraising, gala; Nov09 with parkinson, gala, shlomowitz, butterflycut, hall, hayden, karaoke, knoop, goode, busking, computer, cardboard, boxes). I made a template variable called docTags with text input only.

All pages are set as published; the SearchResults page is set as published but not in a menu.

        Cheers,

Try adding &depth=`2` to the Ditto call on your landing page.

            Still no joy I’m afraid...

Might it be something to do with the template variable? Its just so odd that the tag cloud appears perfectly, but the results don’t show.

            Cheers

TvTagCloud seems to working alright so your TV must be working.

I think the problem is with Ditto, it’s not returning results even without the TvTagCloud parameters. If you can get Ditto to return all docs from id 2, it should work with TvTagCloud.

Do you have any other Ditto calls on the landing page?

If you are using &parent=`2` now, first of all move back to &parents=`2`.

Cheers for these - am using &parent on Ditto and its the only call on the page (in fact, on the whole site).

I tried the following Ditto call just to try it out:

                  [!Ditto? &parent=`2` &paginate=`0` &sortBy=`pagetitle` &sortDir=`asc` &depth=`2`!]

and it also returned no results at all at http://www.rationalrec.org.uk/archive/search-results.html (i.e. without any tag selected). Perhaps a Ditto problem after all? Also tried with &parent=`0` in case that made a difference, which it didn’t.

I find the Ditto help pages very hard to understand - I can try a more generic Ditto call if one of you wouldn’t mind telling me what else to try?

Thanks so much for your patience!

It’s parents with an ’s’ not parent. You also don’t need the &paginate parameter as 0 is the default value anyway.

And try it with &depth=`0` to return all levels. That should produce some results.
                    [!Ditto? &parents=`2` &sortBy=`pagetitle` &sortDir=`asc` &depth=`0`!]

Right - finally getting some results but not exactly as intended...

With code as Bob suggests, the landing page always gives the same three pages as a result - none of which are tagged with anything, never mind the tag in question. Also, the page heading (which is based on:

                      Results for tag: [+tags+]

) brings up nothing in the [+tags+] string - it was doing this before.

                      Curiouser and curiouser...
