seems to be a very cool plugin with good (but not great handling).

But I get some errors, too.
Scenario: all configured the babel plugin under Revo 2.0.4pl2

then I create a new page in my main context named "web". plugin seems to work, but not as in screenshot of moxcms.com/extras but without options only message "create translation".
After click on that link, I get a server error by URI attribute "&init_babel=yes".
Going back in browser history, backend reloads and there is actually a translation in my second context named "en". So I think it works properly (technical) but there’s a problem somewhere else.
Also, plugin creates another new page in 2nd context if I click on link above twice or tripple. Should only create one translation per context, I’d think.

And about UI: Would be very cool to get it work like that preview I made in photoshop.

nice idea but i think the tab is better UI if there are >2 languages.

CTRL+SHIFT+U - Clear Cache
CTRL+SHIFT+H - Hiding Heft Panel
CTRL+SHIFT+N - Fast Create Resource
CTRL+ALT+P - Preview Recource (in edit resorce window)

Strange behaviour, the page can’t access the css file... Manu, did you had the same problem? Maybe a problem during the installation? Can you find this file on your ftp?

What is your browser? Did you try with another one? can you please give me «die weitere Informationen zu diese Fehler» (cf. your 2nd screenshot)

Very good idea, for two languages only (and for a large screen wink

). I keep this in a corner of my mind and look at its feasibility, but that will not be my priority for the continuation of this plugin. Next step is a language switcher for the front-end... and finding your bug laugh

Okay, there is the problem and the solution: you’ve got to insert the css filepath with the base_url. I’m working in a subfolder of my domain root in modx and only the css file babel.css and js file babel.js don’t have the subfolder before rest of path.

works now when configuring in babel.class.php:

$modx->regClientCSS('../core/components/babel/babel.css');
$modx->regClientStartupScript('../core/components/babel/babel.js');

But this is not the correct file handling! Tried to work with base_path or core_path but either function doesn’t work correct way.

It’s error 500, think related to 1st problem: "HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): As unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request." No access problems related to file permissions here.
This error resolves anyways. Even though the js and css is loaded correctly. Maybe another file?

UPDATE 8:50 AM:
I get another error on another server (away from localhost before). This one is in root filepath.

Fatal error: Call to a member function getValue() on a non-object in [replaced, but correct]/core/components/babel/babel.class.php on line 139

Yeah, sure. Would be nice to see in future some time. Don’t hurry, the frontend language switcher would be a cooler thing.

Hi all,

first of all, thanks for the plugin. It seems realy cool.

My problem is that I cannot setup it yet. I have configured the contexts but when I after configure the plugin properties and press "Save property set" (I also tried with "Save" plugin), the properties disappear. So the plugin is always asking for setting the properties correctly.

It is a bug ar I’m doing something wrong? BTW, I’m running a fresh MODx Revolution 2.0.4-pl2 installation.

No bug here. Does it appear with other plugins either?
For me I just have to unlock the standard-properties first then I can create new ones, finish the properties, then save the plugin properties. Do you get a "saved successful" message from modx? Is the save button really active?

man! thanks for this plugin. i love seeing this topic seeing solutions for revo.

what i did not really understand....

Next step is a language switcher for the front-end.

we decided to use the subfolder-approach like pointed out here.

now, does your plugin contain some sort of context-switch like over there, or is it just for easier management in the backend (so i run the context-switcher-plugin additionally)...
