I just wonder why Revo is built its RSS service on MagpieRSS, and why not SimplePie.

and I think you are right, I think it SimplePie is just for
aggregating...
MagpieRSS was the precursor of SimplePie, so maybe it is more
stable or something...

I’m very new to ModX so please forgive me, if I am not using the correct terminology.
Just discovered the spiefeed Snippet and I implemented it successfully. I also found the template chunk with some placeholders in it. The Problem is, that I can not get the content of my feed and I can’t find a manual, that describes the several placeholders available.

By looking the chunk, it’s all the placeholders that have been dumped in one place.
You can edit it, or just create a new chunk, then change the snippet call on your page with this:
[[!spiefeed? &tpl=`your_new_chunk_name`]]
Please notice, it’s the backticks that wrap the value.

Thank you. I know how to edit the placeholder. I already created my own chunk but what I’m looking for is a possibility to get the content or better saying the text of the feed item and not only the title. How can I do that? Im looking for something similar to [+description] in PieX.

[[+description]] and [[+content]] placeholders are available in that version.

It’s strange. When I am in the package menu, it says that spiefeed has an update available. But installed version is 1.0 Beta2 which is the newes currently available or am I wrong? When I then klick on Update, I get a "provider_err_connect".
Do you know, when rc1 will be approved?
