I’m not sure what you’re talking about. There is no UpdateRegister snippet.

I mean UpdateProfile, sorry.

Oh, my mistake, I was hocused by the start and the end of the file. I am new in CMS and MODx. I have also trouble with my PC, only a LAMP-Server on localhost which has no email support and the examples and documentation, of course. I need more time to becone confident but Revo looks very modern.

Other question: How can I ask for the login name to display it after login?

If you have an email account somewhere else, you can set up your MODx to use it for mail by modifying your php.ini to use it for mail() functions.



Or modify the phpmailer class file in manager/includes/controls and modify your contact form to use SMTP rather than mail(). (sorry, this is Revo; I don’t know if it includes the phpmailer class by default)

Revo has mail methods and you can change the SMTP-related System Settings to have SMTP used site-wide for all mail.

Installation

I made a fresh installation of Revolution 2.0 RC-3 localhost Ubuntu 10, LAMP-Server with database rtest

After that I installed the Login Package and I get this message from Console Window:

Ignore it, it’s just a trivial bug in 2.0-pl that wont affect anything.

Okay, further from the scratch.

I used the Register example form by http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/ADDON/Register.Example+Form+1#Register.ExampleForm1-TheResource

This is strange: At the begin, the field-names are "register.username", "register.password" etc. Then I edited the value item in row 16 value="" to value="1". Since that action I am geting the correct English field names "Username", "Password" from the lexicon.

About documentation:

The example in http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/ADDON/Register.Example+Form+1#Register.ExampleForm1-TheResource comes with an extra myActivationEmailTpl chunk. But the package has already the same ActivationEmailTpl chunk. I would use the latter one and would delete the myActivationEmailTpl chunk because it is not necessary to understand the function.

There are the system settings Blocked Minutes and Failed Login Attempts. I assume that they are not used anyway in the front end interface.
