Tried that, but not getting what I want.

The gallery has about 40 folders, but the thumbs for the folders are always the same, cant seem to get them to rotate.
The folder order is fine, would just like the thumbs to change.

Maybe you could also add sorting folders by Title/Alias too, not just by folder name or id?

&cat_orderby=`alias`

That will do it.

You will have to excuse the newbie question however I’m having a bit of a problem implementing Easy 2 Gallery into one of my sites

I got the gallery installed into the manager after having to manually delete the install folder ( banged my head for a while on that one) now iam a bit stumped on implementing easy gallery on my gallery page into modx.

I have tried using



directly into the doc for the gallery, in addition I have also tried it in a template however I’m just not getting anywhere. I have read the wiki and been through every page of this forum for easy2 gallery but or whatever reason this isn’t making much sense.

I realize there might be a permissions problem causing easy 2 gallery to not display thumbs as I do not see any thumbs in the assets/easy2gallery/_thumbnails folder, however as I said not sure what is going on.

In my reading, at least to me there is no step by step instructions on how to really implement this gallery into a existing modx install. For me this is a needed step since I’m new to modx and very new to easy 2 gallery.

At this point I’m at a loss as to what to do next. I know it’s probably something simple that I’m just not getting and would appreciate any help.

When you’re using a snippet with its parameters, try to NOT attach the "?" with the "&".

[!easy2? &grid=`table`!]

but you can attach "?" with the string directly:

[!easy2?grid=`table`!]

If you’re using the r259, you do not have to run the installer, but you surely MUST save the config first, to update the new parameters below.

There are some additional parameters :

• &cat_thumb_orderby
• &cat_thumb_order

These parameters only affect to the folder’s thumbnail image.
If you use &cat_thumb_orderby=`random` , you do not have to use &cat_thumb_order

There is still a bug on the non-latin filename though.
Damn... it worked on my Windows box.

Thanks Goldsky. It turned out to simply be that I needed to keep the config write enabled. Once I did that everything else started working as expected. Thanks for this very impressive tool.
