Did a pdf of the documentation ever become available? It would be handy for me to print and read at my leisure as I’m going on a long trip and will be away from a computer for two weeks.

There’s a boatload of changes in store for the documentation. Never been done. I suppose you could use the web capture feature of Acrobat to grab the site.

You could get a Mac; the "print" menu item has a "save as PDF" option right next to "print preview". And the new Intel-based Macs will even dual-boot for those must-have Windows apps! Plus the Web is a whole lot prettier on a Mac
I’ll take a few minutes every day to grab a few pages; as soon as I’m done I’ll let the appropriate people know so it can be made publicly available wherever it would be best.
Then there’s this
http://www.ros.co.nz/pdf/ with this
http://www.zend.com/zend/tut/tutorial-PDFgen1.php
or this (somewhat restrictive licensing, though)
http://il.php.net/pdf with this
http://www.sitepoint.com/article/generate-pdfs-php
and then we need to translate al the documents. lots of cliets ask me for a manual
would be good to have the editors documents (the way the manager for editing pages and frontedit works) in diff languages
