Support/Comments for Easy 2 Gallery 1.4.0-Beta 4

me again

It did even happen in beta3 - every time I click on module->easy2Gallery I get this warning above the "Easy 2 Gallery 1.4.0 - Beta 4" line:

RC1 will not use array_diff anymore, but only switching when and where the files should be filtered.

A suggestion, as I would have an use case for this: I don’t know wether this is still "easy" but it would be great if the images could be tagged, and if you could generate galleries from the tags, maybe even as numeric id’s and &tid=`1,5`...

Could you link me to an example?

The Gallery Plugin for Revolution can this.

You can upload pictures, and additional to names and descriptions you can give them tags. Then you can refer to those pictures via gallery-id, picture-id or tag.

My use case would be, on that dogs page I mentioned, that I give every picture a dogs name tag of every dog on the picture. Then you could make a page displaying every picture where dog "foo" is on.

I’m testing Easy2Gallery and have a few questions...
Where is the documentation about how to create new slides?
Here you have some samples: http://arslantic.co.id/evo/
But this uses slideshows not installed with e2g, for example, galleryview. How can I install GalleryView ( or other ) to use with e2g?
I think it will be great to write some snippet samples in the wiki.
It will be a great option if each folder has an "embed" field text where we can copy the snippet code ( pregenerated ), as youtube has, to paste directly into the content. Another good option is to create a dropdown TV where we can select any gallery to be shown within the content.

First off the more I play with this the more amazed I am with it totally excellent work.

With the random picture ouput (rgid) is there an easy way to say get 4 random images from a gallery.

Right now I am using [!easy2?rgid=`2` &ecm=`0`!] and if I could use the &limit=`4` that would be perfect, it’s just a thought or maybe something that might go on my wishlist I totally appreciate the time you have spent on this amazing gallery.

The parameters are the same as http://arslantic.co.id/evo/galleriffic-with-e2g.html , except the &ss_config which depends on the slideshow’s sub-selections.

You don’t install them.
You just drop the folder inside the ../includes/slideshow/ , and run its php file.
You have them included, don’t you?

I’ll try to improve the WIKI, after 1.4.0 RC1 is released and stable, and start to make any TV samples afterward.

This is a little bit tricky, since the MySQL’s RAND() time is the same as PHP finish executing the script, and I’ve tried once that the multiple random snippet calls from the same gallery folder shows the same random pictures.
Hmm... perhaps the random selection should be done by PHP itself with its microtime?
