Support/Comments for Easy 2 Gallery 1.4.0-beta 3

Yep, I know your SQL code.
It’s been there for testing.
But do you really feel the difference?
How did you calculate the seconds?
What tools are you using?

BTW,
I know you can read Cyrillics, can you translate some of comments inside the classes/TTree.class.php ?
I guess I might find a clue inside it.

do you have the svn version?
there are changes around the snippet files, especially the _slideshow function.

I just tried your suggestion, and it worked!! Thanks.
As my compliment, I’ll add the slideshow you need tomorrow, after I switch my broken router and do the svn update.
You’ll see how dead easy it is on making a new slideshow module.

My Russian is not perfect, but I hope the translation will help you

About the seconds - I’m printing the query and after that executing it in mysql. The console shows the execution time
These seconds are only the queries, not the complete php code.

I don’t have the svn version, because the project I’m working on has to be finished fast, and at the moment I don’t want to try with different version.
May be in 2-3 days I will be able to change the version for one new project

Actually today i have spend some time with gallerific.
Compared to galleryview there are advantages and disadvantages (as usual ).
So, I think more slideshows inside easy2 make it more flexible and easier to use for different purposes.

Hi, I remember some months ago I talked to somebody about implementing PhpThumb in the gallery.

Yesterday I found out I need kind of slideshow in a header of a site, with properly resized pictures.
So, I implemented simple slideshow, which uses PhpThumb to resize the pictures, including some kind of caching.
Find the implementation attached. (the "slideshow" is called header, because it is used in a header of a page)

I think it is usable in all the slideshows and probably in the gallery view as well.

It needs more parametrization and adjustments, but I hope it can help you as an idea.

javascript file is not in the "slideshow", because initially it was implemented outside the gallery.

No, it doesn’t have ’clean cache’ yet. Actually this image resizing is used in all parts of the site and the "cache" is shared.
Generally it is not clean implementation, it is more "hack" but I was surprised about the easiness of the implementation and overall speed increase of the site, that’s why I wanted to share it with you.

Yes, there is a site under development, but to be able to reach it, you should put following in your hosts file:

I cannot guarantee its current status , but it is usually working

If you want to taste the GalleryView on Easy 2 Gallery 1.4.0 Beta 4 - r96, you can update from SVN ( from branch 1.4.x - https://easy2modx.googlecode.com/svn/branches/E2G%201.4.x )

This time you have to run the installer, because this will also insert a new field in the database since the directory/folder now has an "Alias" field, to solve the folder name vs title in non-latin1 character.

EDIT:

forget to mention that there is also a new parameter: &landingpage.
So if it’s been set up in the slideshow, the hyperlink will go to that page.
If no, the image will be open ,replacing the slideshow box area.

@ddim,
Did you upload the folders to the web-server with cyrillics name?
How? (I’ve tried once, and FileZilla failed to read the characters).
