Hello.. I am not a Coder, but I have been recently working with MODx on contents, using some elemental snippets (ditto, wayfinder, etc), and now I started loving this powerful tool. Currently I am looking for a solution which allow me to publish images, no matter how many they are (for this reason I cannot use TVs). So what I need is a slideshow tool.

I tried MaxiGallery but got confused. Then I tried the more simple Easy 2 Gallery add on, having it working just for basic calls…

I want to learn how to set up from scratch, a page calling E2G using &slideshow=`galleriffic`, like in this page http://arslantic.co.id/evo/example-5.html (many tks goldsky).

..currently not much documentation is available for such a rookie like me.

My concerns are:

Having a document with a basic e2g call.... the result is ok and the images are shown even using the minimal template … … … but what happen when I change the slideshow type to use Galleriffic…

… guess what… no slideshow, no images shown…

Q1. Minimal template does not call css nor js files. In order to use Galleriffic, what files should be called in the html header? Is it enough with these mentioned here http://www.twospy.com/galleriffic/ ??

Q2. regarding http://www.twospy.com/galleriffic/... it is not clear for me what template files from e2g can I manipulate to get the desired output, or if I need to use a chunk … how should it be formatted? .. I mean ..in that document in point 4, there is a reference to a mandatory container element <div id=”thumbs”> where the thumbnails are going to be built… should this part be generated trough a chunk, or should I change any of the ..easy2/templates/ files ?

I really sorry not to know anything about js or php …. but I hope to learn some basics trough this practices in MODx…. Getting more and more interested. Tks in advance to all contributors.

which version are you using?
anyway, I used to put a complete documentation inside the ’Help’ tab, then wiki, then at last my site.

trying this E2 gallery.
After having launch the module for the 1st time (install process in green)
all other attempts to comes back in module crash:


I presume the install dir to delete was assets/install (??) cause I did not found any other install folder.

there is a RC4 already.

By the way is this normal to have an opening "<?php " at the beginning of the module index.php and not the closing one? I deleted it of course.

and now At the first launch for install under the field for the gallery folder:

the ovh 90plan is php4.4 that the point , I actiated the php5 through htaccess, things got better.

what is the call for them ?

For slideshows only gallerific and simple seams to create some output in the html.

And simple does creates only ONE or TWO images in the div id="slideshow" instead of the 4 I put.
